GE Washer Will Not Wash/Start/Drain (Retake)

GE GTW460ASJ0WW HE (High Efficiency) Washing Machine will not start. The washer filled up with water then never started and has been stuck in "fill" all night long. Usually putting it in a "Drain & Spin" mode will get this fixed but not this time. You can abort a cycle by holding the start button for 3 seconds. Also did not work. Even if you change the cycle settings, it gets stuck in "Fill."
This washer was purchased mid January, 2016. It has not finished loads several times but usually bounced back. After just 3 months, it's breaking down. We've yet to hear back from GE about when a technician is coming out and it's been 3 days now.
Lastly, the laundry room is too dim. I tried filming with flash on and it had too much glare. This was also filmed on a phone camera so not the best but tried to not shake. Just trying to get this problem out there and known because there are basically no videos or reviews on this washer on KZbin.

The worst washer ever made by GE, it guarantees you a lot stress every time you use it.. I never recommend it to anyone.

Eugenio M use the manual under the machine it’s stuck to side in plastic and you can put the washer in service mode which tests certain parts and also you can put the washer in fault mode and it will display fault codes

My ge washer was not draining or spinning. Also I noticed the lid lock switch was not coming on. About 5 different error codes were showing. We check the pump, around the tub to make sure there was nothing clogged are blocking the washer from spinning. So we started back with what I had noticed at first. The lid lock switch light was not cycling on. So we switched out the lid lock which is located when you lift the the lid looked down uts on the right side. There are you tube video to show you how to get to it. We switched it. Washer stronger than ever. No more error codes. Hope this helps someone. Check lid lock switch if you get washer is throwing several error codes. Also videos on YT to show how to check codes.

I have the same model he's showing here, the machine would not do anything except make clicking sounds and the tub was full with water, would not spin or rinse or anything. i unplugged the machine for quite a while then plugged back in and within 30 seconds opened and closed the top 6 times and then rotated the dial to rinse and spin and pressed start and it began to operate normally!

Please replace lid lock because Main board go to protection in relay k501 because it do not received logic state 2.5 volt at 5 volt in Microprocessor... but if you change the lid lock and it not was fixed you need to check various electronic components around it circuit..[DIODE AND resistors]. if you need more information please let me know I WILL SEND A LINK ABOUT .... but if you run a test program and disconnect the connection [ lid lock from board] you will see that it change state light flashings because the microprocessor do not received logic state or information about internal contact Swisher LID LOCK IF IT IS OPEN OR CLOSED AND IS FOR THAT THE microcontroller GO TO DOWN AT SAFE MODE OR protection MODE AND YOU SEE ALL LED IS OFF AND NOT nothing [THE WASHER machine NOT WORK].....I AM SORRY MY ENGLISH NOT GOOD

I have this exact washer machine and model. I HATE IT! No matter how evenly you distribute the articles of clothing to ensure proper weight distribution it goes off kilter 8 out of 10 loads. I only do small or medium loads, you can't do heavy loads or it will not spin or drain properly. I've had this machine for 3 years (purchased in November of 2016) and it's just one huge disappointment. I can't even leave a load unattended because it constantly goes off kilter. These High efficiency washers are absolute crap, this is my 3rd GE HE washer because the prior 2 broke within 1-2 years. I had a non-HE GE washer (purchased in 2013) and it was a dream! you can put comforters in it and no issues. I regret not taking it with me when I had moved.

When you press start, the lights will go off for 7 seconds and you will hear the sound from the door lid lock end start again.

I have this same washer., purchased in early 2016. I’ve had problems from week 1. First, it runs loud. Secondly, it’s a problem sometimes going to the next cycle. No it stopped completely.

I have it too and this is why I'm watching videos like this. If I can't get it fixed before Monday then I have to figure out how to meet a repairman in an 8 to 12 window and I won't be home until after 10. I missed the AT and T guy the same way over the summer. I'm a school bus driver and we are probably going to be short of drivers and I need the money. I've already had a repairman out here once before to run the computer driven, overly smart model, through it's motions to get it going again. I'm going to flip mine back over and see if the motor has dirt or debri in it since I've been putting very dirty jeans in it

I heard if you place a magnetic strip on the right hand side (where the lid would rest when closed) it bypasses the sensor.

I have this same washer and had the same problem. Replaced the water inlet assembly first.. Did not resolve the issue, then replaced the lid switch. Issue now resolved. Long story but I am not sure which of the two actually was the issue, but I hope this helps somebody.
