Is it just me who shivers and cries when listening to Gealdýr, Danheim, Wardruna, Eivør, Garmarna, Jonna Jinton, Heilung, Skáld and Jon Henrik Fjällgren? I feel immense waves of homesickness even though I'm Swedish and live in Sweden. I wish I could go back in time to meet my forefathers. Be they slaves or free men, I would love to dine with them.

This song is the most incredible ode to Jötunheimr, it brings tears to my eyes 🥲 I honestly believe this song (among so many others like it) are gifts from the old world... from the ancients, our ancestors. Many songs were lost through time but I feel they are being given back to reconnect us all to what once was, what so many of us are longing for... to be close to that which calls to us and what gives us a feeling of home. I'm grateful for those who bring us the songs. Thank you Gealdýr! 💗

If a movie about giants had been made, another soundtrack would be unthinkable. I don't know what dear Gealdyr felt or imagined while composing Jötunheimr, but if I were a giant, Jötunheimr would be the most beautiful lament in the world for me.

The music of our respective forefathers binds all my brother. Gaelic, Germanic (and by extension, Norse), or Frankish, we are all united under the rich history of our past brethren. And so we are today, strangers seeing eye to eye and feeling the same feelings of homesickness, unity, and wonder at these songs.
@martareadstarot Жыл бұрын
We are drawn to specific music because it is a fragmented memory deeply rooted in our energetic DNA that we keep bringing with us through countless lifetimes. It is a distant memory that deeply impacted your soul...it cannot be explained because it is on a level of your own personal atoms which experienced something profound at one point during your overall existence.
@hxjdnd Жыл бұрын
Norse tradition is linked with English history. The Vikings invaded us and settled in a wide area of the UK. Even Edinburgh is originally called Odinburg. York was established by them. They had a big impact on British culture. You probably have Norse blood running through your veins I know I do. Anyone with son at the end of their name like Johnson or Watson or Stevenson are descendants of vikings that kept their viking name in tact.
