We have a gear pump with a reservoir tank that is leaking at the bottom fitting. The system is for a Gaylord dumper. What is the risk of air getting trapped after we refill the reservoir? Will any air that is trapped be purged out of the reservoir breather?

Hi sir, Have always loved every of your video lectures. They are practical and professionally curated. But the only challenge I have with them is your Imperial unit used in your calculations. They through me off balance usually. Can you also try to solve examples in metric units?

Yes, the hydraulics playlist features a lot of US customary units simply because most of my students will find themselves using this system upon graduation. This being said pretty much everything else (electrical circuit analysis, motors/generators, motor control, etc.) uses the proper system of units employed by most of the world.

No easy formula. Better to check a specific pump's data sheet for flow at specific pressures.

A lobe pump (similar to a gear pump however instead of gears it uses meshing lobes) might be a better fit for viscous food applications.

impeller itu di centrifugal pump (dynamic/roto-dynamic pump) bukan gear pump (positive displacement pump). yg pakai impeller yg dynamic pumps.
