Randy sat down not too long ago to take us down memory lane and breakdown what the gear was like back when he started in the unit.
Here we have a fairly famous image (famous as far as publicly distributed images go of JTF2) that was just before JTF2 began to transition away from the black coveralls, MP5's and shin guards.
Producer Josh's Note: I still think this looks cool as all hell, and you'd be hard pressed to find anything tougher than this kit.

All you guys in the top teams were the innovators. Yep, those are old now, but they were the cool $#!T back then. Remember we were in the old green combats still until Gortex in 1995 and CADPAT came in around 1998. Some regular units went into the Stan in the old greens. I'm still walking because of these flaps. Great to hear your info and opinions from recent time in. As you have told your viewers a lot of things are changed for certain situations.

The Nomex coveralls are definitely warm. The may not fit certain bodies too well either. I'm Navy and I I much prefer our new pants and a tshirt on ship over my coveralls most of the time.

Really cool info. I was a signal soldier at Fort Bragg and saw the Unit (I just called them Delta Force because of the Chuck Norris film) guys around sometimes due to my duty assignments, but mostly they stayed on "Range 17" (or maybe it was Range 19). I distinctly remember them running the perimeter one morning with non-issue PTs and Oakleys. Never got to see them in full battle rattle though, but they must have looked very similar to JTF-2. I did get pitched to get a recruiting packet for our (82nd) Division long range recon because they were hard up for signal types but again, never saw what they wore as kit.

We are still wearing coveralls in the Navy on naval boarding party, they suck lol.

Yup. I'm a legacy Hull Tech and I still prefer pants and tshirt on ship. My coveralls hang on my locker for responding as RAT, but that's it.

Producer Josh Here: Hey! Always open to feedback like this, no offence taken! If you're watching on mobile, there is a vertical/split screen version, where the picture is bigger. Our audience is almost 50/50 Mobile vs. PC/TV, so it's tough to find a middle ground that works. Will try and do better next time! Thanks again!
