As soon as they started giving 40k bronze to new 70s, a bronze farming meta was created. Leveling alts is the most efficient way to get the cosmetics. Upgrade your main, level alts to get the mounts/mogs.

Thing is blizzard does not want ppl to be done super quick. Event is for 90 days. The amount of bronze you get at the end per day is a lot.

But it’s really not. Have you ran Mythic or Heroic SoO? The amount of Bronze you receive for higher difficulties is laughable. You do not get rewarded for higher difficulties, as one would expect. Especially in a time limited event made for fun.

@@matthewalexander2780 Idk what ur talking about but across dailies, heroic raids, scrapping gear, looting trash, and instance daily queues I get around 70k bronze a day. It takes 500k to upgrade a full set of gear. Do the math and you'll realize its logical.

no it's not, and all the people who used broken mechanics like the frog farm get to be way more powerful screw everyone else. they should of taken all the broze and gear from them.

I started putting Bronze on upgrades and started to feel powerful once I hit the ilevel 416 range. I did it by sticking to a daily routine on that character: Do a normal dungeon, normal scenario, heroic dungeon, heroic scenario, and heroic MSV. Along with the Dungeon/Raid/Scenario dailies. I thought "well this is fine, I'm getting about a new ilevel tier a day and after a week or two of this I'll be maxed" but... that's clearing 2x dungeons, 2x scenarios, and a raid *every day*. Which is absolutely nothing to plenty of players, but is a completely untenable hurdle to other players who don't have the time or desire to sink that much daily effort into this. And honestly... that's fair. It's another situation where the balance between "some players will go completely ham and grind for hours and hours on the most inane things and then complain that there's no content" and "some players don't have time to treat WoW like a job" is very hard to find

If they don't have time to play the game then they don't get all the stuff. They just have to prioritize what rewards the can get with their limited time. They aren't entitled to it all.

@@TheBigdaddydude Well, we're not talking about entitlement, we're talking about accessibility, and the friction between balancing content for highly motivated players who will play 8+ hours a day until all content is consumed, and players who can't/won't spend that amount of time playing the game (which, frankly, is fair.) Especially in a game mode like this, where there's no real *challenge* as far as player skill and the only real bar is 'how much time have you invested in the game?' which, at a certain point, maybe isn't the best thing.

This is pretty spot on. Upgrades being exponential while costs are linear creates this feeling when you upgrade early on of "Oh, I'll never catch up to that, might as well not bother" that I and many others in my guild have felt. I've put about 40 hours into my current character at max level, and only now am I starting to feel like I've got power accumulating at a decent rate.

It is made even worse by the fact that your bronze income is also tied to your gear, so you get upgrades with smaller effects slower early on, but then are able to clear full heroic raids extremely fast later and accelerate to maxxed gear faster and faster until you are fully capped. It's just a bizarre system.

If you want the mounts/mogs, it’s far faster to level alts for the bonus bronze.

How has blizzard not figured out it feels bad to "progress" and become weaker. I shit you not, at level 58 I had 56% mastery. I changed zero gear and at level 60 I had 29% mastery. At level 62 I was under 20%. I have 2 level 70s right now. I won't spend anytime grinding bronze for gear upgrades. Best case scenario is that about with 2 weeks left, theyll boost everything 500% and go "see everyone had time to collect everything".

No matter how logical your requests to bronze cost, or scale up cost, the devs hold us players in such contempt, that no logic is solid enough for them to ever lower themselves and make changes based off player requests like this.

I get your point why getting to the fun part quicker is better but its exponential because a small difference feels bigger at lower gear levels

They 100% won’t reduce the upgrade costs. If they do anything they will increase bronze acquisition. That’s how they handled things in shadowlands with the anima/grateful offerings.

Gear upgrades will always be available. Some of the collectables wont be this easy to get again.

I hated the upgrade cost, then I started to upgrade, and now I like it. the progression to power feels useful everyday! I can basically upgrade all my gear 1 time each day, and I feel the power increase! Now, if this was an event lasting 1 month, yes it is to expensive! BUT, its not.. You start playing now, upgrade your gear! you will become a monster in just a week! and a god after that! THEN you can have fun, THEN you can get all the mogs etc! Take it slow, enjoy the ride and do not think thread and cloak is where the power is, that is icing on the cake! Gear upgrade is where all the power and HP comes from!

in retail they come up with 5 new currencies every patch, why not make remix have 2 - one for gear and one for everything else

I've just maxed my 'main' remix char, and i wouldnt care if they nerf the cost for other people. I've enjoyed my journey through the pandaria (im still mising two rep for a full achievments on that char, so i have put my time on it) Anyway, the change i would really enjoy, is if instead having to pay full price on the alts, i would have same discount as i have in my maxed char to upgrade a piece. My current plan is to have 22 chars at 70 by the end of the event (11H, 11A, no race/classes repeated for each faction), but i will just cash in my 80-100k bronze in each alt and not touching them again, so if the cost is nerfed for alts i would probably be more willing to play around with classes i never touched before Also Im doing the class arsenal and cache achievements and the landfall quest chain sucks in a fresh 70 with no upgrades

Upgrading gear is honestly not that bad just play all norms and heroic raids and dailies you'll have a maxed character in a week or 2

I'm a fairly casual player and have limited time to play the game. I just got my first character to 70 yesterday and have collected about 115K bronze so far. I haven't spent any bronze yet, but at the rate that I have achieved bronze, I won't be able to farm enough for all cosmetics/mounts. If I have to spend about 600K bronze on gear upgrade, I won't have much left to spend on cosmetics.

You already have basically enough for all the remix exclusive collectables, the rest are not going anywhere. Being overpowered like what we are able to experience in remix has never been possible before. I personally would hate to see people missout on the fun for some 10yr old mogs.

currently it feels like you are dead at 70 and for so many people who want to get the cosmetics it just isn't worth putting that level 70 farming in but more profitable to level alts. So far I don't want to spend on upgrading gear

I have a couple of alts going got my Theramore Tabard on one, other is like 23 atm working on the MB toy & Troll heritage (sadly my troll dk 60+ is on another linked account). My main 70 is on my other account, not sure if or when I should go back to it at all. I saw the gear costs skyrocket at 70, got to a point where I stopped upgrading, bought my Garrosh heirlooms and mount & cosmetic, toys fomo with bronze instead. I did have some fun in raid SoO heroic and Terrace Ward tanking prenerf. Bronze might get buffed towards the end (if not that exp or something) though leveling early levels feel great but it does slow down. Great guide yesterday on alts.

if u havent already, make a horde alt aswell and get the mini mana bomb toy aswell from the theramore scenario aswell.

@@Predkite Bought the mana bomb last night for 500. Was leveling an alt for it but that was faster. Horos has it on all the vendors, checked Shrine and Jade Forest ones both had, though the toy can be used horde only. Got the scenario yesterday ran as level 34 and again they ran with me at level 35 when I got it. Granted both are now 500 bronze(as of last night) on the vendor.

If anything I wish alts would have the 95% reduction in cost for upgrading. Would make playing other characters easier. The thought of trying to relevel another character with that bronze cost for every alt is insane.

You don't need the power on alts. Under 70 the characters are OP. Run a main the you up the gear on. Make 2 alts that only do 1 normal scenario, 1 heroic scenario, 1 normal dungeon, 1 heroic dungeon, mogu'shan normal. The alts each get 13k bronze a day each for an hour and a half each at the most. Do same for main. Yse the alts for mounts, toys, etc. This is stupid easy. All this "it's broken" crap is absurd.

Hot take: The upgrades are perfectly fine. It takes a week/ week and a half to get a character fully kitted out. The event is 90 days. People just love to complain.

At this point, especially since they already said no, they should just increase bronze gained when you level up your gear and def make things more account wide because alts are def a no go for gear upgrades but main upgrades isnt too bad.

Exactly. I would honestly play this mode even more if they decreased cost for alts and increased Bronze acquisition /lowered gear costs. I have around 7 alts I did for transmogs and mounts with one character as a main that’s maxed out. And I simply just refuse to gear out another character like that main.

People are playing remix very wierdly..... >_> I have one 70, it destroys everything it touches without effort. Its at like itemlvl 300? I bought most of the cosmetics I was missing and wanted, and I can probably afford just about everything without even trying if I want Who cares about actually "progressing" in this game mode? I'm here for the mounts, transmogs and achivements. And clearly 90% of that can be done and over with in less than a week of regular play.

I am already ilvl 396. wasn't that hard. Just run heroic raids each day. The dailies in the timerunner area. Kill the world bosses. That is all I do. I don't get why everyone wants to be max ilvl in 1 week. The event is around for like 75 more days or something. You want it all done ASAP all you are going to do is burn yourself out hardcore.

What people like you do not understand is THIS EVENT GOES ON FOR 3 MONTHS!!!!! This event is not meant to "crack out in two weeks" like you do for mythics, upgrading your gear is also very OPTIONAL, you don't NEED to do it to level your charakter, or to run dungeons. You just need it if you want to do the heroic and mythic stuff and I am sorry to tell you this but maybe its good that you need to invest some time to get there, maybe teaches you that you gotta earn stuff for once.

I've said it before, and I'll say it now. They don't need to change the cost of upgrading gear, they need to add a thread for Bronze% at 70. At 70, XP threads are worthless, the only way they wouldn't be worthless would be if they applied to all characters on your account in Time Walking. But if we get bonus Bronze% threads we can make something like 10 bronze turn into 100 bronze with 1000% bronze gain threads. Still forces you to put in the work, someone who doesn't get those threads won't get the bonus.
