Have done one or two using Don Kyatt rebuild kits back in the day :) Hope the T/T transfer layshafts are harder than the early Don Kyatt ones.

Hey friend, I have a 1990 FJ70 with a 5 speed running from a 3F 12 valve when I am out in the sand dunes and under strain it sometimes makes a ratcheting sound and I am not sure if it is the transfer case or the transmission but it is definitely slipping somewhere. What do you think it might be and what would be the fix for it?

H55f Gearbox output shaft / transfer input gear spline. Get it rebuilt today or have no drive at all tomorrow!
