Cool and interesting video! I have a GW wagon and have been looking at putting a manual 4wd gearbox in it from a BJ Familia 323 Sp20 (the 4wd models are only japanese imports here) what do you know about the 4wd gearboxes and what they will fit into?

Why Familia? Capella also have 4WD, no? Other than that I do not know much. I've been reading about LSD and it turns out in the States they have it for the Mazdaspeed Protege (their 323) and owners of non-Mazdaspeed that wanted LSD are using 626 FS (they do not have FP) gearbox as it is both stronger and have more space for the diff. That is what I remember anyhow. But my point is apparently gearbox swap between 626 and 323 should be possible, thought Japanese market is always different.

@@Mazda626GF @Mazda 626 GF I also think the same. Should be possible. But just unsure if the Gearbox outer cases will be the same. Awesome tip you showed in this vid....with the part numbers G560. LSD is possible to add to the Gearbox also. Something I'll do for sure if I can get a 4wd Gearbox to fit in.

Hi, I am would like to uppgrade my gearbox too from 5 gear to 6 on my MAzda 626 GW 2.0 diesel engine 1999 year model. And I am wondering which one is gonna be suitable in my case?

Sorry, no idea. It sounds like you will need an adapter plate, as there is no 6 speed gearbox ever made for those engines and you will need to use a gearbox from another engine.
