Funnily, those guys are the adults of their species. The "Parents" are the child stage, so we've been doing this for far longer than you think. They're also oviparous (They lay eggs).

They do not in fact teleport in Risk of Rain 1 or Risk of Rain Returns. But neither do the Parents in RoR1/R.

The console versions of the Survivors of the Void DLC only has ONE achievement/trophy while the PC version has SIX. Railgunner is my favourite and I was disappointed that their set of trophies was omitted. I love the loop variants, makes me wanna loop.

Honestly, I gotta say, you guys've done better than the many've hoped! When I heard Gearbox took the helm of things I got scared for a moment. THIS IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!! I always felt like the main thing missing from risk of rain 2 was an alternate path with new environments with different layouts and versions of those said environments. This is gonna be so cool, and I can't wait. I'm so glad to see the child come back. Cause I always felt like a lot of the enemy families in this game were missing. The lemurians still need a boss for their family and another Mushroom type enemy/boss for sundered grove. I had my doubts with gearbox taking over the IP, especially with that trash mobile game, but it definitely seems like you guys care about this game like the fans do. Can't wait to see what you guys have in store for this DLC and hopefully a third one on the way after. Keep up the good work, and thank you for your hard work

Looping exclusive stage variants?!? Brilliant idea. More survivors confirmed :) I like the new stages shown off but they are all ancient ruins. I hope Gearbox has more ideas than just that. Children returning from RoR1 is cool but it kinda ruins the implication from the lack of them in RoR2... *you already killed them all* oh well, but they seem like interesting fodder enemies

Well the children are the oldest of that species line. So even though we killed them all in RoR1/RoRR, the maturing cycle has happened in the time of RoR2. It goes Parents -> Grandparents -> Children

@@iamBOXO Actually it's parents --> Grandparents --> children. The species line is comprised of effectively living stars. Stars start a certain size, grow as they age and when gravity can no longer hold them together they collapse down to a tiny size. This is reflected by the fact that grandparents are boss enemies and parents are not. Because children are effectively the elderly of this species line, they are fewer than the other two. Before this update it is implied that all the children were killed in ror1(due to few of them becoming children) which is why they aren't seen in 2.

Since I don't see a lot of people talking about it I just want to bring up how nice it is that they just decided for the heck of it to add stage variants for looping. I have never been much for looping in this game despite playing it for many an hour and one of the top reasons is you've mostly seen everything there is to see with a run after getting a God build going in a loop and after that it is just killing everything that moves in flashes of chaos. Actually having things change even just visually is a real nice change, especially given it looks like they're going for a more fitting look for those changes as a lot of mods I've seen that do similar would do things like make it look randomly like the void which just kinda felt jarring and over done for stage fricken 1. And hell they are even making map changes for loopers, its so unnecessary for a content DLC but I imagine I and a good few others will be looping a lot more now thanks to it.

Honestly, not a single dev should announce even remotely rough dates untill there is ZERO chance of anything going wrong and delays becoming necessary. If I was in any kind of dev situation and had say, i would not say anything other than "It is getting released when it is ready. Further information will be given as appropriate."

What I'm happy about is new maps. There aren't that many map mods for risk that seeing the same thing as you go through gets monotonous. I love the game and I still play it even with these faults but more maps really makes the game more enjoyable to loop through.
