Trey, unless you want 25.5 inch scale. I think the Ares can have a 27 inch scale option. I've seen a few kiesel Ares 7 strings be 27 inch scale. Not sure if you knew that.

I've messed around with builds from simple to fancy. But what I've settled on for my first Kiesel is an Aries bolt on. Alder body. Satin light blue color. Chrome hardware. White pick ups with chrome poles. Illusionist bridge/beryllium beck. Roasted maple neck. Non roasted flamed maple fretboard. Black staggered off set inlays. Inline gt headstock painted yo match body. White kiesel logo and truss rod cover.

If you order through the builder, you cannot call and change the order. If you want something that is not on the builder. Write down the stuff you want from the builder and call them. Then you can option 50 the removed tone knob.

Kiesels are so addictive. Sidebar, it is ALWAYS worth calling them to check on options you would like but don't see. I was able to get a combo of the Solo and Johnny Highland, I got a beautiful top and options not available online with all the electronics of the JH model. Just gave 'em a call and it was no issue.

The knob elimination is at the bottom of the menu. I just ordered a guitar today and had the volume moved to where the tone knob is and eliminated the volume hole .

I've been using the builder everyday. I'm so tempted to sell a couple of guitars to order an aries 7. Probably gonna have to go basic bitch model. Black bolt on 1 piece maple neck, slim profile, reverse inline 7 headstock, either swamp ash or alder body. The one I really want has a badass top and natural finish, but can't afford that one. but then again, for an extra $80 I can have it match my kiesel bass...

I got my Keisel that way. It's amazing. I used the old builder though. Got the Leia for the small size, as I need it for easy transport. The Holdsworth pickups were my favorite of that demo, and I couldn't be happier with them.

Yes I have heard horror stories as well.......Maybe 2 years ago 2 Kiesel guitars came on a local trading ad. I was skeptical because he had them priced very reasonably. Long story short I own a Vanquish and a Solo6( telecaster). A few times I thought about selling them but I haven't played a guitar that even comes close to the build qualities of these. I love both of mine and they are bad ass. Very well crafted, super low action ,no buzzing and the pickups sound very professional. Why don't you take it upon yourself and give them a call? If they act like arrogant pricks then don't deal with them. I bought mine used but now I know they offer a great guitar. I will be building an Aries in the future. You can't listen to what others say whether it's negative or positive. I say do it but don't get too carried away with some options (like a 600 dollar paint job). Unless you don't care about pricing at all. Cheers. Oh also you better have patience because it can easily take 6 months to get your guitar.

I totally agree on the tone knob. But, the option I miss is the Evertune. Since getting a Solar with that option, I haven't picked anything else up. In fact, I had to order a second of those so my son could have one, too. Great guitars, and that Evertune is just too nice. But for custom, yeah - that's a steal.
