I used to have a Sub 25, but I sold it and bought a Sub 37. I missed my Sub 25 so i sold the 37 and bought a 25 again. Great sounding little synth. Love it! ❤

As a Sub37 user I figured the 25 was just a cutdown, lesser version..now I have both and realised they’re actually very different. They sound different, inspire differently, have differing user cases and compliment each other and other synths brilliantly...proper modern classics really!

It is not available in the public domain. First register your Sub25 in your moogmusic.com account and it appears in the support section for that instrument.

the Sub37 needs a black background Oled , i think the screens they use look pretty dated in comparison to other newer devices.

also a bit distracting, i think the reason i gravitate towards the 25 is the simplicity, why shouldn't the sub37 be as minimal looking despite extra features

There is something restrained and beautiful about this synth. I love my Subsequent 37, but the 25 is a beautiful piece of gear.

Moog sub 25 vs Korg Monologue: who wins?

Not really a fair comparison. I have both. Two different synth tools for different needs. The Korg Monolog has a sequencer, the Subsequent 25 doesn't. Both are Phat but the Moog is phatter like "Bertha Butt"! I beef up the korg's low end with tubes and compression on some things. Both work in sync with midi and cv.

The owner of the Korg Monologue wins big time. They get a sixteen step sequencer capable of motion recording with 200 locations to store those sequences, compared to the 16 patch only on the the Sub. An oscilloscope. The biggest win for the Monologue owner is the hundreds of dollars that they save.
