This tool is a must have. Everyone in the house has one on their keys, and I use one regularly as a Fire Fighter. "Rescue hammers" may become dislodged and be lost during an accident. This stays where you know where it's going to be. Outstanding Fred, keep up the great reviews.

i have one in yellow, but just to let you know in real test performance, it acts differently against side window filled with protective layer, it doesn't break like your regular glass window that shown in video instead it will punch the selected vehicle side glasses to full of cracks, then you need to act your own to push the window out.

If you're underwater will the water pressure affect the glass breaking?
@lightningsmokerXx10 жыл бұрын
It works under water. You Tube the RESQME tool there is a video about it. But it's the best tool if you are under water , because something like the LIFE HAMMER you cannot swing under water. This RESQME you do not need to swing, just press against the glass & the spring loaded spike will shatter it.

A note to hose who try it on just any piece of glass: It's made to use on a vehicle window only, and ONLY on the edge of the window. If you try to use it on the middle of the window in a true emergency it might not work and you might die. Please watch the how-to videos made by the manufacturer of Resqme before using. For some reason KZbin doesn't like my warnings, but I'm trying to SAVE LIVES by letting people know many of these videos on these products are showing the incorrect usage. Come on KZbin, let me save lives!!

The problem with carrying that tool is that in some states it is not police friendly.
@lightningsmokerXx10 жыл бұрын
planetwalker how so ?
@planetwalker10 жыл бұрын
lightningsmokerXx Some police look at that product as a burglarizing tool. The law is an ass. I have one of these tools. They are well made but you can't maintain or replace the blade, unless I missed a blade retainer. It does not work on all glass because America does not have a standard auto glass. Still, it is better to have than nothing at all in an emergency.
@lightningsmokerXx10 жыл бұрын
planetwalker ic. Ya in regards to the glass. It's only meant for the side door glass & it has to be TEMPERED glass. If the side glass is Laminated like on some volvo's. This won't break it. All cars should say on the driver and rear side glass if it's TEMPERED OR LAMINATED GLASS. Thanks for the info on the police dept.
@planetwalker10 жыл бұрын
lightningsmokerXx Your welcome. Better to know now rather than hearing it from a judge. I think that if you keep it with your 1st aid kit and other vehicle safety items then you should not have a problem, ''it is an emergency tool''. It depends on the officer, state, county and city ordinances. Re Volvo : I would have though that would be the case on all Volvo's as they go all out on safety, more of a tank than a car. What I don't get about Volvo is why they use the worst color paint on their cars that make them harder to see in certain conditions. Volvos Achilles Heel.
@lightningsmokerXx10 жыл бұрын
planetwalker It's not just Volvo other brands are using the Laminated as well. You just have to check that side window to see what it says.

seatbelts are polyester. That glass wasn't tempered.
@lightningsmokerXx10 жыл бұрын
Look @ your side window people. That little bit of writing no one reads .... It will say Tempered or Laminated. The RESQME is designed to break Tempered Glass which most side windows are. .......... There are some new models since like 2012-present that are high end such as Volvo, certain bmw's etc etc that are using Laminated on the side glass as well. The resqme does NOT break Laminated. The windshield is laminated. Most cars side windows are however Tempered. In a rollover situation technically Laminated would hold up better or a side impact...but in terms of escaping from your car if it catches on fire or being under water you'd definitely hope to have Tempered side glass.
@kbproductions83876 жыл бұрын
lightningsmokerXx Of course Volvo would do that. “Our cars have the highest safety rating ever but don’t try to get out in a hurry” lol

Now as of March 2015 there are 7 Dislikes to this video. And you have to wonder what sort of person watches a video on a tool that saves lives and hit's the Dislike Button. 2 Reasons I can think of. 1.They didn't like the way the glass or seatbelt material was demonstrated. 2.They think, i don't intend on driving in any lakes or rivers so why would I need one. Anyone who does end up in that situation is stupid/bad driver. DISLIKE.

Yes They work. They are standard issue on the Florida Highway Patrol. And used with the Michigan State Police. There is a video with a Florida Dive Team using this underwater. If you buy one, test it to make sure the spring works. I've ordered 30+ of these and had 1 out of the box with a defective spring.
@AK47Uprising9 жыл бұрын
lightningsmokerXx Yeah I was going to say you really should test any piece of gear before you have to use it, especially something like this.
@TannerMcCoyOfficial7 жыл бұрын
Nigel Naicker as a first responder I can tell you on all MVA (motor vehicle accident) we break the glass with these if someone has one, keeps all the glass from going into the car at one time onto the victim. So I would say most of the bad reviews are false. I doubt 60 people have had to use this in an emergency situation. I'm sure they bought it and tested it on glass it's not rated for them came back and said it didn't work.

Anyone think that just because they have MANUAL WIND UP/DOWN WINDOWS they can get out of a sinking car? Perhaps think again (water pressure) Check Out this Article - www.artofmanliness.com/2009/11/10/how-to-escape-a-sinking-car/ ^^ " First, don’t open the door to make your escape. While you might be able to get out, the car will quickly fill with water and sink rapidly, possibly trapping your passengers in a watery grave. Instead, roll down or break the window. "
