In Gears 2 horde we should have shields. No fortifications. The enemies take cover and shoot at you not run at you head down like lemmings for you to shoot with your turret or sentry

This video would have been out a week or two earlier but you don't understand how boring the gameplay is until you're playing for a purpose. I have so much footage that I CAN'T use :(

Love the idea of bringing back more fun and game changing mutators! I never feel the excitement of having them on, it just makes everything bullet sponges for the most part which isn't fun gameplay IMO. Variety, having to move positions in a hurry or change weapons from close range to long range, and just change the flow of combat in any way! I like Horde Frenzy out of everything because it goes by quickly and its much more hectic, if Horde mode wants to be great again it needs to be FUN the whole way through!

Some recent modding and code digging showed that there were plans to create a OG horde mode in Gears 5. With there being semi functional AI and models for the Locust Grinder, Mauler, Butcher, Boomer, Wretch, Wild Ticker, and Berserker! All hidden within the code of Gears 5!

Ngl, I Enjoyed Gear 5 Horde but dude you brought SO many good points. xD I was dyin the whole way through this video. I aint really think about how dumb down it is now, maybe because I was always playing with the homies, so i never really looked to deeply into the flaws. Def the classes blinded me from the gameplay, I was more focused on leveling up and gettin my perks up. haha Dope video brother

In gears 5 you have the locust drone Lambent drone the swarm drone swarm drone imago ( basically a drone) grenadier Grenadier elite swarm, Grenadier swarm grenade elite Theron guard, Theron, Sentinel, Theron, elite palace, guard, swarm, hunter, swarm, hunter elite and they all do the same thing that is 13 enemies who do the exact same thing just with a different coat of paint I understand some enemies wouldn’t be in the game due to them not existing because there dead but then why bring the locust back as enemies in horde? Anyway there’s no real point to us complaining about this game years after they stoped updating it when we can look to e-day since everyone who worked on 5 no longer works at the coalition

I hope if the coalition ever does make like a Marcus fenix collection or SOMETHING like that we get horde 5.0 (E-Day PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU) along side the OTHER hordes that takes all of the enemies whether it be Locust, Swarm, Lambet hell even the the DEEBEES just ALL of them and throws them into the same enemy pool, imagine how chaotic something like blood drive would be if you're getting ambushed by all of these at once, we can even take the "new" elements such as being able to place stuff wherever and the cards/classes system from gears 5 and then idk, add in THE LOADOUT SYSTEM BACK so people can choose what guns they want to start with that AREN'T tied behind classes, add mutators back alongside modifiers from gears 5's difficulty choices (But not have them TIED to difficulty and allow the player to turn on whatever ones they want), just make it the MOST customizable thing ever... also a beast mode 2.0 would be fire but let the players choose from more enemy types and MAYBE make it PVP like overrun, tbh thats just overrun.

I think you nailed the thought process of a dream horde mode. I think horde could be so crazy if they put some more thought into it.

You know what Gears 6 could use? The Swarm morphing into a modern-day Locust society. Most of the Horde enemies in Gears lore are lab abominations created by the Locust themselves, so it would be cool if the Swarm got an intelligence boost (through evolution or whatever the heck) and went into old Locust labs and started making more of these frightening abominations. The variety in the Swarm sucks and the DeeBee robots are not very Gears-like substitutes.

Horde has been significantly 'gameified' since Gears 3. The raw simplicity and grounded feeling of early Horde is long gone.

@@MildCrispok so my idea for grenadiers is having like a special fast round when they something like stop the charge and its a location that you must hold like king of the hill. And like 3 or 4 squads of grenadiers come at you which is like 4 in each squad, and when they get in a certain range squad one deploys smoke, and when they get close to coming out the smoke the second squad deploys flash gernades and the 3rd squad comes out of the smoke and throws the gernades, that's when they truly push in with all 3 squads, of course they well be moving tactically with the terrain. But this should be like a interesting round because I think it's a good idea to have the players decide we're the king of the hill should be and it will be a bit big because will make it so that if they leave the hill they get debuffs, but remember these are grenadiers there close combat so there should be like 4 nice close combat action scinces for them like let's say 1: the grenadiers gets close to shooting your head of and your able to doge it and you fight each other to blast the others head off, 2: there's a cut were a grenadier charges you and your guns fall and you have to race to get to you weapon because before he stomps your head note this should happen when your shooting at him and the first sign of there being a action sign should be him dropping his weapons and charging at you.3: a scene were the grenadier is throwing you around this happens when he get behind you and it's like the new gears of war trailer were.l he pins you to the wall or floor and you have to take the knife and stab him before he can take out his pistol and shot you.4: and there should be a option to take out the knife and have like 2 or 3 epic fight scenes with the grenadiers this can also happen with he chainsaw.

Some People don’t like gears 5 horde mode? My friends and I really really extremely love it since release and we played all gears of war horde modes. Fortifications could have more value since you can spam the map full with them, the gameplay could be more beginner friendly because of the card system. Basically the only issues here. Enemy variations are complete fine and you missed a few enemy types when you listed them. It’s not the best in the series, but it’s well enough. The best attempt on horde we had yet.

I think it missed the mark a bit and feels bloated in some aspects. I think gears 4 was a step in the right direction but that also had its flaws!

There is a horde game mode that lets you play horde mode in Gears 3 style. No cards you just build and defend

Gears 5 horde is the best ever, in my opinion. Rather than coming here and arguing about the current state of gears, I would rather hope they make the next gears horde much better. I want to be more optimistic, than pessimistic. Your content is good though bro. Keep it up bro.

Yo, I know right! Gears 3 is known for best horde! So much happened back then, and getting so hyped to be the first one to be reaching 30k dmg to get the silverback and protecting ur teammates, and them getting the centries on lock and ready it was such an amazing feeling back then!🔥 also being the last man alive fighting against bezerker winning the round for your team, running around the map creating more space, surviving, it’s pure nostalgia. Wish epic games were taking the lead again in making gears great again for each mode and each player. I remember I played gow 3 mostly for horde, with me and my bros at the time for several hours each day almost, getting to wave 50 at hard, and winning rarely, but it felt so satisfying. Now in gow 5 I reach to wave 10 and I’m bored, and switch to ranked tdm or control immediately instead! Hahah😅 It’s very bland, sophisticated with only some players/characters being able to build a lot of crap in my opinion, complex for no reason, and boring. Like who needs a forge to get points?? a weapon locker I understand, but it was way more fun back then when we didn’t had any of those, and we had to pick up stuff from the ground to have them for the next round, because we didn’t had any other choice.. it was based more on survival back then, now everything’s way too safe, but somehow they still get through all the obstacles. And the enemies indeed have no personality, they feel just like walking Ai knowing only 1 thing, to shoot. 😒😒 Edit: now u can literally go behind the drones, and they won’t know a thing… and the way they turn towards you it’s so one directional. Before the drones if they saw you, matter of fact they didn’t even had to see you, it’s more like if they felt you were nearby them, they would get in cover immediately and shoot, they would know you are in front, behind or coming from the sides, and some of them would even run towards you.. which was crazy! So much more personality yo.. 😢 feeling nostalgic 🥺 I miss the centipedes, the corpsers, the guilded Kantus, rolling at you, the big emulsion monsters with their tentacles, shooting morters at you, the explosive tickers or regular, and the silverback was the coolest thing back then. Much fun man, much more fun

Some enemies do force you to do more than just press button to kill and its always with those enemies (swarmak, matriarch, warden, guardian) most teams completely fall apart. Horde 2.0 is still the best imo. Horde 3.0 is hot garbage not rly sure why you think that ones better than 4.0. The command centres completely trivialized matches, the fixed spawns made it a complete snoozefest with spawntrapping soldiers and then you had the sentryspammers. Horde 4.0 took a step in the right direction with custom lobbies for example and then did 5 steps back with the rest. The fact is everytime horde requires the team to actually act like a team the playerbase cries so TC will keep on dumbing the game down unfortunately. The players want mindnumbingly dumb gameplay just look at the most played classes (demo, slugger, veteran, tactician) and TC is more than happy to give it to them. Less work, more money

⁠⁠@@JohnDoe-pu5gkAh yes, sitting in a camping spot for 3+ hours is very fun and challenging indeed. The only challenge is trying not to fall asleep while waiting for enemies to come to you. Gears of War 2’s horde mode is a snooze fest compared to its successors.

At least Gears 5 offers variety for different playstyles. Gears of War 2’s horde mode is simply boring, outdated and offers no variety compared to its successors. Your nostalgia won’t let you admit it.
