This is why he does what he does, he does go a little overboard with his metaphors, but those are really just hyperboles.

I know why you had to go to New Hope facility! During the Pendulum Wars, the big event thet took place before the Locust War, humans figured out that emultion was a very powerful resource. See, the planet Sera (the planet we are currently on in this universe) has basically almost run out of all of its natural resources. And emultion is one of the only resources left in abundance. There are a whole bunch of emultion mines all over Sera. The miners who were digging the emultion got sick. And they were all sent to New Hope facility. All of the tests done to those miners at the facility slowly turns them into strange beings. After New Hope facility was moved to the mountains, some of those unfortunate minors (now turn to test subjects) escaped. And they lived out the rest of the pendulum Wars living Underground, evolving into the locust. Bear in mind, the pendulum Wars have been going on for over a hundred YEARS! Trust me, it pays to know the lore. I hope I helped clear some things up! I love your Channel. You have a way of critiquing My Favorite Things without making me angry. And that I love about you. You stay awesome you crazy ass bastard!

Of the Gear of War games, the second was my favorite though Dom's AI derpacity did leave me utterly dry eyed in GoW 3 when he heroically sacrificed himself to save everyone. As I saw it, we were finally fucking even. All those forced respawns because Dom decided to wander off while I'm crawling about with most of my organs hanging out, trying not to die were repaid by his perma-death.

I agree. Gears 2's Chapter 4 on Insane drove ME fucking insane because every fucking time I'd start a firefight, the idiot would run out, get shot and downed, and then expect me to go up and revive him when there's 30 fucking enemies still shooting at me. So either I ran out of time and he bled out, or a fucking Bloodmount would step on him and kill him. Grrrrrrrr... Gears 3 was pretty crap with the emotions, bad with the storytelling and had some AWFUL voice acting (for fuck's sake America, either hire an actual Australian actor or DON'T attempt our accent) but it did have some very interesting set-pieces, as well as some interesting new enemies.
@isalt54 жыл бұрын
@@Jacksonrox13 "For fuck's sake America, either an actual Australian actor or DON'T attempt our accent" Honestly, I don't think that would help all that much. Chips Dubbo, Purna and Vanille (from Halo, Dead Island, and Final Fantasy XIII, respectively) were voiced by actual Australians, yet their accents were derided for sounding "fake". With the exception of Dubbo's case (whose accent was seen as fake by other Australians, if you can believe that) most of these skeptical yokels wouldn't know a genuine Australian accent if it stripped naked and got all touchy-feelie with them.

I think I know why characters in Gears of War snap to chest-high walls, their muscles are so hugs they form a gravitational pull to which chest high walls are drawn. Well I'm sorry for sharing my opinion. Maybe I just don't have the time to play it to death and finally learn the intricacies of the shooting. I have way more things I could be doing with my life. Epic can keep making them, because Gears is the wave of the future apparently. I just think Mass Effect and Spec Ops did this better. By the way, how come my character is wearing a car's worth of armor, and he can only take about six hits before dying? It's obviously slowing him down, and it does nothing to stop bullets. Good for you, being able to kill more gray brown grunts in a gray brown corridor with gray brown characters than I can.

I'm not a fan of shooters in general but the closest I got to liking the mainstream bunch was Gears. Not only did I enjoy the campaigns more than I ever expected, the cover based nature of it (that, at the time, was quite new) meant that my lack of skill was less of an issue. The thing is, isn't ripping on the engine or the creators, he's critiquing the game, you know, like a critic is supposed to. The Unreal Engine was a PC design with multiplatform capabilities, as it was designed for the game Unreal Tournament, it's flexibility and ease of access is what has led to it being used in GoW and the other games.
