With Hondas that's almost just how it is. Unless your build starts at the dealership, 80% of the job is usually un-molesting. I had a stock 91 Civic that got stolen, and in the 3 weeks they had it, the car was turned into a full-rice vape-bro basket case. They put serious driveway time and spent money to ruin that poor car. I love Hondas, but so much of that community is just madness. Some day there's only going to be one clean stock EG hatch left on Earth. It’s good to see that TSX in a more usable state. To get rid of all of those VSA and warning lights, chances are it will need a shop with Honda diagnostic software or the dealer to do a VSA calibration, and if the previous owner damaged the speed sensors, that’ll be something to replace to finally get all of those warning lights off that were caused by stancing/coilovers. Hope the new owner enjoys it!

It was also very good at getting rid of extra heat in those little engine bays when you turbo them or build them up quite a bit. Radiators and cooling in general have gotten so good I’m not sure those are necessary anymore. Especially on an Acura as modern as the TSX.

I own an 07 TSX and I get it…I love that car, but unless you’re keeping up with repairs (not just maintenance), it’s a lot to fix at once! I’ve had mine for 13 years and always kept up with regular maintenance, but I was letting non-mechanical repairs go and now that its old enough to need a bunch of mechanical replacements too (ps rack, suspension, motor mounts, etc) it’s going to get expensive fast to add the look-good replacements. Seats always rip and are on my list, bumper paint has been chipping since I bought it, a piece of the grill just blew off one day, the paint needs a re-clear at the very least possibly whole new paint job, I think a spoiler would look good, some window tint,…the list goes on. Fantastic mechanical cars, but the quality of a lot of the interior/exterior stuff is sub-par in my opinion.

@original__gmebvy2 жыл бұрын
I would have kept the wheels (but that’s mainly because I don’t like stock wheels on anything aside from steelies) and just changed the tire profile to something a little bit thicker. The one with the crack can be rectified. A nice weld with some cross stitching for additional support would fix that up. Lastly many of the rusted stuff underneath would be replaced, so a new catalytic converter, and a new exhaust system would go on this car. The mufflers I would change for something that would give the car some grumble but not so much to be obnoxious, they would be an OEM style but just new to replace the crusty ones that were on it originally. Since the car has the rear lip and the side skirts, I would attempt to fix the front lip, just to give it some uniformity with the rest of the stock body kit that was on this car. Clean up the interior and that’s pretty much it. Lastly I wouldn’t have replaced the taillights. I would have just put a layer of red vinyl tints over the clear tails just to have that factory taillight color without having to go out and buy a set of taillights.

brings back memories, i had a white tsx with 19” gold te37s, lowered on tein flex. i got out the car scene before the weird stance phase. my car looked awesome but was slow as dirt :)

Ben, if you’re going to mask up to paint, wear a respirator with an organic vapour cartridge. A dust mask is really doing nothing for paint fumes. Wrong mask for the job.

In Australia this car would probably get seized if you got pulled over in the stanced state. In the unstanced/stockish state, if you took it for a road worthy (required for change of ownership in Australia), the mechanic would just be like get out of here, this will never pass lmao. Every single bit of the frame rails are scraped with god knows how many mm of thickness missing, as is the subframe and core support. Poor car would only be good for scrap and a few parts - boot lid, headlights, bonnet, side glass, interior, alternator, power steering pump, ac compressor. The rest is either rooted or has been abused (entire drivetrain lol). Don't stance your cars kids, it ruins everything. If you want to hard park get bags, but drive at a normal height.

its almost like honda knew what they were doing being that the best way the car looks is stock. I couldve never guessed some 15 year old without his frontal lobe fully developed would know how to mod/ design a car
