As a mechanical engineer and industrial designer, I am quite surprised and pleased that Antec created this case and brought it to market. The case design is reminiscent of one that you would expect from Fractal or Ncase.I would Antec to honour their word and continue to develop the platform.I would like to see the case expanded to facilitate the installation of a 360 mm AIO liquid cooler.The contrasting interior colour is an excellent touch,I would like to see a matte black exterior with either a matte grey or silver interior option offered.

For sure Antec is back on the game. Very interesting, on the 90s Antec was always top end case manufacturer, their quality and designs were top notch, and somewhere along the line... they lost their was and brands like Lian LI, Silverstone to mention a few, took all the market, until recently brands like Fractal, Phantek, (leaving a lot of out, just to mention some), start to bring great cases, but it seem that Antec is back, and im very glad with all the refresh design from them, hope we continue to see them improve.

Smaller options with similar support. Heck even the new fractal ERA 2 at 200 while pricey is better than this case! It’s overpriced and unninovative that will not sell at 250 no matter the “promised” feature set and will never beat a case like the formd T1 in terms of price to performance even if the t1 were to cost more than it which it doesn’t.

Too much wasted space. With this height it should be capable of AIO radiator at the top, but it isnt.
@metalguitarman0117 күн бұрын
It's not waisted the extra space is needed to help facilitate and promote easier heat expulsinon. The GPU is oriented to exhaust out the top, and so is the cpu, with the only fans being on the bottom. Why does the extra space matter? Let me ask you is it easier to move an object by getting a head start or by starting to push with no momentum? If the air has no speed, it has a hard time getting out of the case, and without that extra space, the air has nowhere to run it just gets slammed into the top of the case.
@CsQ_RandomRepository16 күн бұрын
@@metalguitarman01 wth is this 1. No, it does not need extra space for easier heat expulsion. In fact, having extra space between the GPU intake fan and the vents actually hinder heat expulsion because the fans have less direct access to ambient air. It's the primary reason why Lian Li/Dan Cases A4-H2O have the offset mode for 2-slot cards, so that the cards push up against the vents and have better cooling performance. 2. The GPU is oriented to exhaust to the central spine of the case and the air is pushed to the top and the bottom since it has nowhere else to go. 3. The CPU cooler, likely low profile, can either be oriented to push air into the motherboard and subsequently everywhere else inside the case, or it can be oriented to exhaust out of the side vents. Most low profile coolers take the former option as stock. 4. It is easier to move an object by getting a head start, but in this case that head start airflow fights both the GPU intake and the CPU cooler intake. Forcibly pushing air from the bottom to the top causes hot air to be partially fed back into the case, and since two airflows (GPU exhaust and bottom fan intake) are fighting each other it causes inefficiency and likely higher noise. Previous iterations of sandwich layouts almost always elected for a top fan exhaust option instead of the bottom, because that way you do actually promote GPU and CPU cooler exhaust to leave the case to the top more easily. 5. The GPU and CPU cooler is oriented inwards. Just these two air intakes alone is enough for the internals of the case to have positive air pressure, meaning that the inside of the case has higher air pressure than the outside. Because of this, hot air is pushed outside through the top vents, and once outside hot air is dissipated by convection. Both the GPU and CPU cooler fans can handle the heat well without needing extra fans or internal spacing on the case, which is why old school cases such as Dan A4-SFX, Louqe Ghost S1 and Velkase Velka 7 all focus on minimizing space and relying on those aspects alone for cooling. 6. Now onto the reason why this case truly is the one of the most atrocious thing I have ever seen. The volume of this case is 19.29L which is extremely large for a sandwich layout case, and even worse, it has invested on GPU+CPU cooler thickness too much that it is also very wide for a sandwich case. The entire point of sandwich cases is to keep the CPU cooler and GPU thickness to a minimum and thereby saving space as a "slimmer" form factor compared to classic layout cases, which are cases that uses the good ol' GPU plug-in directly to the motherboard. If you are trying to make a small case that supports 4-slot GPUs it's much better to go for classic layout cases rather than sandwich since the tradeoffs really start to become not worth it. Going sandwich means that you are choosing space optimization by sacrificing Micro-ATX motherboard support, ATX (140mm) power supply support, and on top of that add a huge amount of price from the riser cable. There are plenty of classic layout cases that can support 4-slot cards at 18~20L range, and some can go as low as 14~16L. All of this makes this particular case a completely pointless, unoptimized, and expensive case that offers nothing of value compared to the competition. 7. The fact that you got 5 facts wrong in that dense comment and completely misses the point of constructing sandwich cases is really telling that you know absolutely nothing about small form factor cases.
