Thing is that pretty much every brand charges $200+ for their new ITX cases these days. It fricken sucks the industry decided ITX is the "premium" form factor and if you want it, you better pay up. As someone building out a Terra right now, I made a spreadsheet months ago of all GPU's that would fit to prepare for Black Friday. Well...we know how Black Friday went (wompwomp), but what I did notice is that....there aren't that many GPU's above the 322mm of the Terra anyway. Those that are longer have lower stock, higher prices, and less discounts. So as someone who knows every GPU length right now by memory from making/updating my spreadsheet, I can see WHY this case is the length that it is....but in practice, I just don't think that many people are buying GPU's that big. Then as you pointed out in this review, the extra space kind of highlights oversights. Your comments on the PSU placement are spot on. Not gaining 240 rad support for the extra size is weird. There's just a ton of empty space. I'm not after smallest as possible - I think the Terra could be a lot easier to work in if it was just a little bigger - but this is quite a bit bigger without much benefit. Yeah, you get two bottom fans vs the Terra, but at what cost (in both size and $$$). Kind of repeating what you've highlighted in the review though. Great review. I think they really have to execute on interesting frame and panel customizations, otherwise the high quality construction and frame design doesn't really justify the price when the end product isn't that much better than what else is on offer.

One thing I notice in the videos for these reviews that no one mentions is that gap on the side of the GPU. I see it's for the cables to route to the GPU to the PSU, but... that's kinda the gap that you dont want for an ITX build right? That's a lot of excess space, space that could not be there otherwise. Putting it next to other cases really shows this case is huge, and if Im making an ITX, and paying that much money for ITX, I'd want a REAL ITX enclosure. Idk. If it didnt cost that much, it'd be fine as like a "man im scared, let me get this big asf case first and see how I handle it."

You have the best review of this case out of three KZbinrs. Best pros and cons list. 19 liters and no water cooling support is a HUGE miss tho. It’s like it a bigger Terra (air only) that can fit bigger GPUs, which is kinda pointless rt now but maybe not after CES with 50s series annnounced. I’d rather just get a Terra if I wanted an air only ITX case. Aesthetics is subjective so someone might want this over a Terra. Beautiful case, but you GOTTA have radiator support. And I say this as someone who has a 7800X3D wedged into an 11 liter Dan A4-H20 and is using a Thermalright X47 air cooler with fantastic results! I think you don't even need AIOs to get by just fine, but without AIO support you're sunk. So weird that this case is larger but does less. I wish we could take the lovely glorious red and put it in a better case.

Interesting. I thought that case was AIO cooling only. I'll have to look into this. I've had my 7800X3D sitting on a shelf while looking for the perfect air cooled it's case for the past 6 months. Thought this might have been the one :(
@rarewhiteape24 күн бұрын
@@eturnltube The A4-H20 is designed for AIO cooling but it's not compulsory. I put a couple of 120 mm fans in the top to push warm air up and out of the case so it gets HEAPS of ventilation and it's not loud at all. The little air cooler I have does a wonderful job and it's super cheap. One thing that really helps is that the case is small so fresh air doesn't have far to travel to get into the fans. If I was doing serious productivity tasks that actually stress the CPU I'd think twice, but for the average gaming workload it's fine. You do need a very slim cooler to fit inside the case, which is where the design aimed at AIO usage can become an issue, but I saw a lot of recommendations to get the Thermalright X47. When I built it there weren't a whole lot of 240 mm AIOs available for the AM5 socket and people were using the X47 to bridge the gap until availability caught up with demand. But after a year using it I don't think I need a water cooler at all.

I just did a quick test run since I am at my computer. Specs are air-cooled 7800X3D + RTX 4070 on a 5120x1440 screen. It's 26C here today according to the weather service and I've got a pedestal fan blowing in the room - no air con! Indiana Jones, walking around the Vatican plaza near the start of the game: CPU temps never went over 76C and GPU temps stayed right between 54C and 56C, framerates hovering around 50-55 fps. MSFS 2024, flying a Cessna 172 from LAX to La Guardia, clear weather: CPU temps spiked to the high 80s when loading the sim but settled down to low 70s in flight, GPU temp again locked to that 54-56C range. Frame rate very similar to Indy in the mid-50 fps range. I use MSI Afterburner and have no fancy fan profiles set up or anything.

And also it seems like you can't flip the frame? I mean if I exhaust downwards when the intakes are on the sides wouldn't more of the warmed air get recycled back into the case after the air bounces off the desk? I'm planning on putting it on a monitor stand (those steel things with feet and perforated panel) because I have my gaming laptop on one and using the space underneath to stow my controller and a desktop charging hub plus my phone and tablet when charging, so I get more space before all the warm air bounches off, but I still think that unless I point a fan at its general direction to move air chances are a good chunk of the exhaust will still get recycled.

It's an itx case that isn't longer than your arm, you got all the ports at the back of the case. I agree STUPIDITY is the greatest pandemic smh
@boydolson5350Ай бұрын
@abXbawz seriously who uses front io anymore? Honestly it would be nice if a case company would make an itx enclosure and put the ports on the back with the power in the front.

@@abXbawz yep, good point idk why people want cables dangling in front of their nice cases

These cases with only sandwich layout is too restrictive. They need to think modular to support liquid or air properly.

This size is cool but low profile coolers are not for me, wish it was just spaces like the nr200

The fact they didn’t make a full red one is kind of lame. Plus no glass panel??

I am guessing we are paying for RND. Quick Google search, the M1 was $200+. For the price and size, I would prefer if they didn't make the middle spine and accommodate for a bigger cpu cooler. Additionally, I would also like support for ATX PSU

Idk why people are hating on the size of this case. Ya it’s way too expensive i agree, but i appreciate the length because it can fit more gpus. Cards just getting bigger and bigger, dual fan cards are loud as hell so i appreciate being able to fit full gpus in a small case like this
@reitastatic3386Ай бұрын
Think more people care about height than length. To keep its size in liters, making it slightly shorter but taller could add easy aio compatibility.

Still DA1 is only a case for a table top. Everything else is a ... meh. Just to compete with an internal volume. The bigger a table is the smaller keyboards and pc cases are. =) PS I wonder why do they prefer giant mouses instead of tiny portable ones?.. No answer

There is clearly easily enough space in there for radiator support, idk why this case is so pretty but so poorly optimised.

Even just 5 years ago ITX cases didn't charge you a ridiculous premium. They were more or less the same price range as mid-towers, some were cheaper and some were more expensive. Now? It feels like every single new ITX case is $200+ and sometimes far FAR more than that. It's understandable from small companies making small batch products but major case makers pumping these out by the tens of thousands? Pure greed. Using the fact that those small batch manufacturers have high prices as an excuse to jack up their prices as well. Despite the fact that these cases require less materials to produce, require less money to ship and the designs are all ripped off from other cases so R&D can't possibly be that high. I bet the margins on these things are great. Sweet little grift they've pulled making ITX the "premium" PC form factor.

mATX is where it's at, tbh, less compromise on performance, and way cheaper.
