@@CrashForce it's for gaming and streaming. The new consoles have 6 cores and once games stop being made for the current gen consoles, they will require a better cpu. If you want to game while talking on discord and/or stream you will need a 12 core cpu

@@MFDOOOOOOM no it’s not it’s terrible value. $300 for a 6 core chip at the end of 2020 is ridiculous, certain games already will use all 8 cores like bf5, assassins creed odyssey, etc and I bet in 2 to 3 years game will gladly take your 10 - 12 cores. A 6 core cpu is not future proof and not having the extra cores gonna cause stuttering and frame drops. Not to mention that this is only for gaming if you plan to video edit or multitask than an 8 - 12 core cpu is the way to go.

@@curtisg8399 You're making your judgment based on guesses and assumptions. Right now, in terms of running games that actually exist, 6 cores is more than enough for gaming. Some games will use more than 6, that doesn't mean 6 is redundant in those games. Benchmarks are out for those games and there is little difference in the vast majority of them between a 6 core and a 12 core, with the same GPU. Don't buy based on what might happen, then you will never buy because eventually every chip is going to be redundant.

If the pricing is going to be competitive with Intel's offering, the latest Ryzen CPUs are going to be dominating. I can already see people doing Ryzen builds just to run Cyberpunk at the highest settings while streaming. What I am honestly concerned about is the memory kit compatibility. Is it compatible with most kits? Is it finicky? The last Ryzen I OC'd (1700) was really hard to make work nice with C16 kits. That's really the only gripe I had with Ryzen. And before I forget, sick builds for both this and the other Ryzen 9 video.

Which PCIe riser cable are you using? I think there's no PCIe 4.0 riser cable available in the market yet and 3.0 will cause compatibility problems as AMD themselves have said on their website.

Really dig the Antec Katana ram. I want to pair it up with my 5900X that I'll be getting on Monday but it seems the sticks come in either 3200 CL16 or 3600 CL18 so i'm not sure how much performance I'll be losing by going with this and also if the memory can be OC'd well.

Yes you need to flash the Mobo to the latest bios update and Asus has a good explanation on their website of how to use their bios flash feature as well as many videos on KZbin about it

I did a build wuth b550 and ryzen 5600x And i have 2x8gb ddr4 3600mhz.I read the motherboard manual and it has support for 3200mhz and 3600(OC).When i try to boot i get 1 long beep and 3 short beeps with no video signal(i use integrated graphics with hdmi cable to samsung monitor).Please what should i do because i cant enter bios to see whats wrong.I tried using only 1 ram stick in every slot tried moving them to A2 B2 where the manual said it has dual channel support,tried plugging the pc to another screen.I dont know what to do because i rebuilt the pc 2 times already.PLEASE!!!

Depends on your needs. B550 boards are built with more robust VRMs at lower prices, but X570 is the only way to get stupid amounts of USB and full PCIe 4.0 on Ryzen mainstream.

What did you do with the RGB? I keep having trouble with my b550, I have 5 phanteks RGB fans and they work fine other than when I initially boot. The second I press the power button all of my fans will flash/turn on in the rainbow setting no matter what I have them set to and then they won't actually power on until windows actually boots sometimes they will turn on automatically however they will turn on and display a static representation of the wrong color and then when windows boots it will go into the mode I selected. Sometimes my motherboard does the same thing with the RGB on the board. I have all of my fans daisy changed and connected to the motherboard at the 2+1 pin connection at the bottom of the Mobo.

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider 1440P benchmarks, does high settings mean Ultra or just high without Ray Tracing? I got 107 FPS on Ultra + Ray Tracing + DLSS on. I have an RTX 3080 + Ryzen 5 5600X+ X570mb on a 1440P 144hz 32inch monitor. Just trying understand if that is a good benchmark.

I like the Gigabyte B550 Vision D much better than my ASUS X570 F-Gaming. However, with my B550 I only have 4 SATA ports and no front "Type C" USB. That motherboard would be best suited for a 2018 mid-tower. On a different note, I now have a Corsair 1000D so that mainly I can have a graphics-card the size of a watermelon, if they come out with such a thing. I would not recommend the Corsair 1000D unless you have the money for custom cables extra-long cables, an EATX motherboard, and can afford $ 400 to spend on fans. I spend over $ 400 on fans and my imagination tells me I lowered the ambient temperature in the case by 1 degree. I now regret purchasing the 1000D, but I am sort of stuck with it since I do not own a forklift.

Ryzen 5000 has a sweet spot of 4Ghz for the memory, that is 400Mhz higher then you used. Nice build, but that 3090 ... What were you thinking?

5900x can easily overclock to 4.5ghz on all cores and the rtx 3090 is the best gpu out right now but I would wait for the 3080ti.

I opted to increase the memory speed to 3600 MHz, but the latency is slightly worse (CL 18 instead of CL 14). Also dropped down your power supply to a good rating and removed the $140 windows 10 install price, which you shouldn't have to pay more than $15 for on eBay and elsewhere for a key

You're actually doing better than 4.96 GHz. Windows Task Manager doesn't given the most accurate CPU HZ rating. Even Ryzen Master can be off. It measures an average offset over a period and not peak clock.

5900x is best cpu for the money. Rtx 3070 is garbage. Get an rtx 3080 or wait for the 3080ti. If you don't have a gsync monitor than you can buy the new AMD card but don't buy the cheap ones. You'll be sorry. Unless you only play at 1080p but who still plays at 1080p in the year 2020? 1440p 144fps is the sweet spot right now. 4k is still too demanding on even the best gpu.

They go in the top. Front mount is a bad idea because it puts the pump above which causes air to get into the pump and is noisy plus could damage it. Radiator must always go above the pump.
