Quite an arsenal of tone right there. Great Job Matt, I know what you mean now ! That trem in the end segment was a shocker too. Nice playing as always. Off to your main site ,more for me to discover with your band. Thanx for sharing. Subbed!

Exquisite playing ! Just got a Phaez Mclane ... Sounds pretty darn close. Very vocal and airy.

The Liverpool was definitely made for single coils. Of course, a certain sweetness coming from a 1961 Stratocaster is to be expected.

Hey Matt ,Tommy Scro here. Amazing how close they all are. Although the newer builds seem to be a little bit more crisper sounding , it's really just a matter of great and great.Looking forward to getting my Express soon. Thanks for all your awesome videos. Stay safe

yes, due to it being newer. As they age and you put the hours on them, they will mellow.

Stunning! Can you tell us more about Ken Fischer's "unique voicing of the tremolo" please? Is it output valve bias trem based or one of the other alternatives?
@MOBontv3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm not too sure of the guts of the circuit and been sworn to secrecy as it was Ken's creation. Someone once asked me for pics of the guts, but can't do that. But man does it sound amazing for sure. Sorry can't be of more help. Thanks for watching

Amazing guitar playing . Very good implementation of the phser "ish" effect .PigTronix gives me the overall impression that they are a cut above the average stomp box. I should probably google this Ken fisher and educate myself it sounds like. Any pushing me towards the brand is welcome.

Which speakers in the Ampeg 4x12? Great playing and great demonstration of the differences in the model. Thank you!

Thanks so much! Speakers are 68' pre-rola greenback 30w 014 cones. Hope that helps. Love those amps, nothing like them

The difference is apparent when you listen with some good headphones. In comparison, in my opinion, the Liverpool is a little brighter and more to my liking. The Rocket almost sounds like it could be bass amp too. The tremolo on the Rocket sounds like an old Magnatone amp I had many, many years ago. If someone needs to give away either model of Trainwreck I won't be picky, promise.
@MOBontv4 жыл бұрын
for sure! The rocket has a lot of bottom end but can be dialed back to your liking. The rocket has the 3D clean tones and yes, that trem is very similar to the maganatone. Good ears man! Thanks again for watching

Ha, thanks! I was a strat guy for years and now I'm a paul man. There's always room for both! Yes the rocket is special. Works great with a paul too. Thanks for the support here

Thx for making these videos. Playing and tone is great. Very informative. What would you recommend for weekend warriors for a more convenient cab option? 1x12 would be ideal. Celestion gold?
@MOBontv4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! I really like the golds, definitely worth a try with a 1x12. I'd guess an open back too with an alnico but experimentation is the fun of the journey. I only have the 4x12's so I can't really tell you anymore info on a 1x12. Keep me posted thou. Love to hear what you discover!

Really great playing and excellent comparison video! To my ears these amps are not very close to one another - the Liverpool has a sweetness to the clean tone and a nice sounding breakup at volume. Gorgeous sounding amp. The Rocket was brittle on the top end making the three high strings particularly less pleasant. However, that would be useful in a James Brown kinda funk band. For some reason the neck pickup on the LP with the Rocket was pretty muffled. I think some of that may be compressor related. The compressor was opening and closing which was a bit of a distraction. Still the comparison was beautifully done, educational and much appreciated.

Thanks so much! Good ears for sure. I hate the compression of the internet, best to hear them in person. Appreciate the compliment and to views

These amps are very bass-e..if you turn the bass down to 8 or 9 o clock it will sound better

What is the noise floor on the TW? I built a clone and it's great for everything but not for clean.
@MOBontv4 жыл бұрын
The rocket is pretty quiet but it was designed to be more about the cleans. The express has considerable hiss but because its geared towards the overdrive. So to be expected.
