How can you hold two objects at the same time while twisting one and holding the other still. The GearWrench pass thru Ratchet set solves that mind blowing task and makes it a simple project. Their pass thru (hollow) socket sets allows you to place another tool though.
These sockets are also much thinner then traditional sockets and work great for the job where you have little to know room between the nut an its surrounding.

Cool. I got the Pittsburg set which has a 3/4 hex on sockets for the 12 point 3/4" driver. I've been using the sockets with my tekton extra long double box end flex head ratcheting wrench (17x19mm). The 19mm is same size as 3/4 so the sockets pop right in. The wrench in the kit has way too much backdrag IMO.

Haha, no way, where can I find them? Are they at Kmart? 😝 But seriously, this eliminate the need for box end wrenches and carrying a standard socket wrench set. These pass through style do both.

Actually the only real unique use for pass thru sockets is where a a fastener is deep in a hole any wrench won't be able to reach, such as some shocks

I have come across places were you cannot get wrench (Even offset wrench) to the nut. It is a fuel adjust screw on a fuel pump and the nut is a lock nut on the fuel adjust screw. Only way to tighten lock nut without fuel screw moving is to hold the fuel adjust screw with a screwdriver while using the pass though socket to tighten the lock nut. Only other alternative may be a crows foot .. The offset on the pass through socket gave enough offset to clear the stuff blocking access to the lock nut

I have a craftsman battery pass through ratchet set, I it will take a 1/2 inch bolt

They discontinued the 1/2" ratchet which sucks.

I don't see a need for these in my life. I never replace just the strut. I replace my struts using quick struts, already done.
