So exciting to see all the details of this toilet install. Nice of you to consider the people in your family with shorter legs, and place it lower. It's actually a healthier position for you too. Now you can opt for a urinal. Might as well get it installed while you've got the walls open, and you're working with those lines. BTW, the mirror is gorgeous. Looks like it went on top of a dresser. You can fix it so you'll never notice it had been broken. What a find. You can put a little entry table below it... a place for keys, etc. Nice work. One of my favorite videos, so far. Always doing something so I'm pretty sure it would feel out of the ordinary if he didn't have cuts of some sort on his hands. I had my husband watch this video as well so he could see what was involved in setting up the wall mounted toilet. He was fascinated to say the least. In 1954, when I was five, I watched my father build our house; it was the third he had built. He did carpentry, electric, plumbing, HVAC, tiling, masonry. I remember him "sweating" pipes, brushing on "pipe dope," heating lead in an ancient portable melting furnace, soldering every joint and every fitting. It's amazing how pex, compression fittings, and cold expansion have streamlined plumbing. I really enjoy your videos.

Great job! I do like that style of toilet, it's much easier to keep the floor and the toilet itself clean. We have always sub-contracted our plumbing out when building a home, but you guys make it look easy! The mirror is a real gem of a find! I love finding a diamond in the rough at Goodwill or a little mom and pop consignment shop. Especially a 4 dollar one! The pants are really cool Ashley! ;)

Hey ya know a couple xlg. Truck loads of sawdust or wood chips would soak up rain and it's good for dirt health. Also it starts a base for when you get gravel. Doug your a pro for sure. If you would want to build tiny houses after your done with your house; contact incredible tiny homes in tenn. They have people build them etc.. you would be similar to a independent contractor. Get paid and they give you all materials you need. Talk with randy jones. You would be a great asset to his co. Lots of love to you and yours.

The mirror is beautiful. Glad you rescued it. I'd say it's from at least the 1920's if not a little earlier. At one time I'd guess it sat on a low entry way storage chest of some kind.

When you finish this house up , from a nonas point of few, I remember you saying you’d like to inspect houses , correct me if I’m wrong . But you should do those classes and get it done so later on in life you’ll have an easier job on your body. Saying this ( your knowledge and skills are a gift from the Lord and your hard work on learning and doing ) you have the ability to do anything you want!

I detest having to practically embrace the toilet to clean round the back of the base . I detest cleaning the little fiddly bits where it’s bolted to the floor , and the whole toilet cleaning gymnastics needed with a standing toilet . You really address many of the household pet peeves of mine with your excellent renovations . I frequently say that women should design houses . I was wrong , Doug and Ashley should design houses . That mirror is wonderful ! As well , the actual mirrors of times gone by were better . I don’t know if they put thicker mirror stuff on the glass or what , but if you look at well kept old mirrors beside new ones you will see what I mean .

No screws needed on the mirror fix. It would actually make it a less strong fix. Just use wood glue and clamps. It'll be beautiful! I am loving all of the vintage choices so far! Totally my style! Great job!

Great price on the traditional mirror. You can easily repair the split using wood glue for bonding and stained wood filler for any remaining cosmetic flaws. Excellent find. I imagine the mirror hanging above an entry way table with a vase of flowers. Lovely.

Soldering is something I'd like to learn! I changed my low toilets out for right height toilets. Oh to be young again! Wonder why they changed the red and blue. It was so easy to ID!!! And no crimper needed! Ashley, you kill me with flannel in FL. lol You go girl! Great job with the rough-in!!!!!

It was probably cheaper for Uponor to just make a clear pex and just use different colors for the text. That's our guess at least.

Really like the looks and ease of install of the Pex. Great choice on your part and Thanks for the Tutorial. A good wood glue and some careful clamping while it dries should take care of the mirror. Later
