Luckiest. But being fit and strong does help too. Hard to say if he will recover fully - his wrist etc will be painful for a long while, maybe permanently, especially when riding. Your comment may come off as, "tough dudes can get away with risk." People need to know it can be dangerous, the subconscious is looking for excuses to take risks as it gives many a drug-like buzz.

It's just like a practice race run, unless you watch close, how can you dial it in boss man? It was really bad by any normal standard 🤕, but it's another day in office for Gee-man! Step back, heal up, recalibrate the next line by 10% or so and crack on lad. I, personally, love your daring spirit and insane skills..just dial it back to plain lunacy🤪 and not utter madness 😵. So, I reckon 5-7% reduction on the barmy scale would do you just fine. Your recovery is amazing so far Gee, steady on lad!

Just had a bad crash myself, resulting in a broken clavicle, scapula, 2 ribs, and a punctured lung. I was alone on a hidden trail and was barely able to hike/ride out while I coughed up blood and nearly blacked out. First couple weeks it felt like I would never heal, but now after 5 weeks I'm feeling improvement daily. Glad to see you are making such progress and that you have such a good team behind you. Injuries like this come when you least expect them, so be safe out there and enjoy every ride to the fullest!

@wilson fisch “free” nothing that require the goods and services of others is “free”, you pay for it through taxes. I don’t disagree that it’s better that way but stop calling it free, that’s dishonest at best, flat out lying at worst. It’s extremely expensive, it’s just paid for differently.
@powerfuel297
@powerfuel297 3 жыл бұрын
@wilson fisch In France you got all the taxes + the "social charges" to finance the social security which is cost a huge part of your income or your profits and even though its still in debt! I think that a better system would be to let the choice to people to finance either a public assurance or a private one or none of them if they want to take the risk when there are young and healthy.
@getsomemtb7427
@getsomemtb7427 3 жыл бұрын
@wilson fisch, what country do you live in? UK someplace? US is 37% combined Federal and state income tax. What's yours...45%? Though I would rather pay a little more so we all had equal health care, it won't happen for a long time here.
@funnyclips.central

@wilson fisch, me too. Maybe I should retire in NZ. ;o) Chart I got info from say you are 39%. (I know it fluctuates because I pay about 28% in reality.) Half of Americans are brainwashed to believe social programs ruin everything but do little research. Cheers!

Really good to see you healing man. I broke my right ankle in 3 locations on the 19th of June while riding. And I remember after getting out of the hospital, scrolling through Pinkbike when I just saw the title of the article I was shocked. For me it's the first time going through an injury like that and at first I was really worried wether I was gonna make a full recovery. But seeing the progress you have made has really given me hope, though it's still quite a while until I can start putting weight on my leg again, I'm extremely motivated to get back to the point where I was. I truly wish you a full and speedy recovery. Greetings and best wishes from Germany! You took a big fuckin hit and to be standing strong like that - mad respect

I know you’re at the forefront of pushing the limits of mtb and advancing the sport in every way, I also know you accept the risks and could die tripping over your shoelace. However does the sport need to go to extremes in this way? I’m sure it could be pushed in other ways or at least made safer if it has to go to these gnarly do or die locations. Is it worth loosing a hero to millions and a member of a family for the next big edit. Rampage is also crazy. Just a death waiting to happen. If we can control the risks in other extreme sports / motorsport then surely we can do the same in mtb without taking away from the achievements of the rider / teams involved. I’m not trying to dull mtb down I promise I just think there needs to be as much investment in body armour that works without being intrusive etc as there is in marketing the products involved in the edit. Stay strong dude and hope you make a swift and full recovery.

Your later years may suck from this stuff, but props for all the heart you have to continue on. As others have said, ride how you want for you, not the entertainment for the masses, sponsors, or otherwise. Heal up quick 🙏

Gee thanks for making the key point, if your going at it its the risk you must be prepared to take, I spent a week in hospital after a big hit but.....when you get home and you can't lie down and have to sit upright for 6 weeks, get help with being clothed, washed and dealing with a challenging mindset its a sport that demands and asks allot, if or when it goes wrong, compelling post as its not easy to watch back as I've been there recently to so listen to the legend guys as he's saying it exactly how it is - speedy recovery Gee you will be back better than ever ❤ 🏆
