Austin, the fact that you did 30lb above your bodyweight is crazy impressive bro. Most people can't do their own bodyweight on a standing military press. I know I can't. Respect.
@joeybmas14j3 жыл бұрын
Its pure Gymnastics & calisthenics strength training. You would NOT inagine how ridiculous the transfer is, i got 77.5kg for 2 reps at a bodyweight of 65kg on my first time trying out overhead press. Strength transfer from bodyweight trining should not be underestimated

Honestly I was at most expecting about 175 since it’s closer to your body weight, and being dead weight always makes the exercise harder. 205 is impressive!! Combining that with handstand push-ups, you’re a monster!

@GioGhirardi4 жыл бұрын
Inverted row is a great exercise to build the strenght for pull up, bicep curls are not enough!
@MrStrongBro4 жыл бұрын
I would change the perspective toward the pull up. Pull ups are a main compound back exercise. Arms are one of the secondary muscles. I’d recommend doing inverted rows to build that back strength as well as horizontal rows with dumbbells as accessory work. Always start with pull ups first since they’re harder, use a chair to help lift yourself and gradually decrease the assistance as your back gets stronger. Bicep curls could be a good accessory movement, so nothing will hurt finishing off your back workout with a little bicep work. Most of the time, your bicep will be toast at the end of it.

you can do handstand pushups so i would expect you to have a strong OHP due to the fact that you're not one of those skinny dudes in calisthenics and you have more weight to move around which means your muscles would have to be stronger than theirs to facilitate your weight in the planche push ups and HSPU which by the way is very hard when you're not small af.

You started with the wromg disxipline, all the beasts on the fitness platform alphadestiny, austin, etc have been promoting and preachin that you can get hella strong thru calisthenics strength training, people act like its only enduranxe pushups and pullups, nah bruh you just need to actually do some reseaexh and youll realize its more than that. Leverages, straight arm strength planche maltese Victorians. All of these static strength movements have insane strength transfer. I tried an ohp max for the first time, and i got 80kg for 2 reps, at a bodyweight of 65kg. Just from training handstand pushups. Dont underestimatw how far your body can take you

Austin was cheating a little on the handstand push-ups, his right leg was planted against the wall for a lot of the reps and wasn't being fully lifted. I'd say it might have been a tie of 16 reps if he had done them all properly.
