your commitment to all of these is seriously commendable. it seems so easy to just do a little bit of stretching every day, yet i also know how hard it is to keep it going (for me at least). so good to see you actually making great progress by sticking to it! well done!!

Your integrity is what I as a subscriber is what I appreciate most. You inspire because just like in some of your titles you claim and it is plain to see that you started from an average guy perspective and while you of course are far from average as your wife and child you are someone those of us probably do more watching than you do doing and being a good all around good dude.👍🏾✌🏾

I really love the structured and analytical way of approaching these movements and exercises. Also, you being honest and explaining your weaknesses and strengths is refreshing to hear. I also thought the pancake was a move not made for me, but because I can relate to you, I now know it's worth trying.

That's exactly what I thought looking at his first pancake which is still better than mine after working towards it for a year. He's already leaning so far forward that all he has to do at that point is let gravity assist several times a week.

After years of smashing out fast rows, swims, or rows with little training and zero warm ups, my body had a meltdown and I slipped a disc last Summer. I've slowly improved my mobility since then, and finally got to the point this week that Pancake would be my end of year goal. So I love how timely this is!

So how many sets per day for how much seconds? And how much resting time between????
@jeroend1899
@jeroend1899 Жыл бұрын
Good job! Your honest approach is commendable. I'm currently experimenting with a contract/relax method, where you stretch, then contract for 5 seconds and relax into a deeper stretch for 5 seconds, then repeat. You contract the muscles you are stretching to teach your brain it's okay to relax them even more afterwards. I'm making better progress now with this than with just static and dynamic stretching, and it's easy enough to incorporate into CaliMove's mobility programs, or any other. 5 sets of 5 seconds, 3 to 4 times a week.

Dude, you are very impressive... Most exercise videos i watch i usually just feel i am not strong enough, or not training enough... But when I look at yours, i think I am not smart enough or dedicated enough... The amount of work you put on analysing everything, taking vidéos.. and working like 700 days on your handstand preparing that video is so impressive.. do you also have a full time job? That's impossible for me to just contemplate putting that kind of hours. I need to quit my job 😅

I wonder if when you're training for a specifc skill like a handstand or a press you still train your pull skills. And if affirmative, do you just maintain it or you lower the frequency? Btw simply loved your channel, i was lost on the chaos of multiple training programs on youtube and your videos gave me a solid north to my trainings. Greetings from Brazil :)

even though it is right that pancake will make it easier to press to hands stand the base position to press requires to have your hips over your wrist hence you should always try to start the press with closed feet so you won't need such extreme lean on shoulders over wrist. after the initial lift you should go into wide leg position. Hope you see this and hope it helps.

Hey bro, I understand you're simplifying it for the viewers, but as someone who learned to handstand as an adult and then the straddle press, the pancake fold is not a prerequisite for the straddle press. It makes it easier, but it's fully possible to do the straddle press way before your chest touches the ground. On the other hand, being very close to a pancake IS a prerequisite for a stalder press from the floor, simply because otherwise it won't be anatomically possible to keep your legs from hitting the floor on the way up.
