This is my makeup brand and exact shade. At 70 I have used Estee Lauder foundation for over 50 years. Especially over the last 3 months I get comments on my complexion being beautiful and shock at my age being 70 rather than 50. I use Estée Lauder priming, blush and finishing powder. I don’t mix brands! The manufacturer creates them to work together! You can’t judge the foundation accurately unless you do!! 👩🏻‍🦱

I had to come check out your channel because the majority of views from one of my videos was being suggested from you and you just did a collab with another channel I watch. Great review, glad I found you. I had trouble with the perfect shade, it didn't match up to my double wear shade, I had to go lighter, but it still ended up darker on my skin. Hi Shelly! I’d love to see a video comparing all “Grade A” foundations against each other (each one in a full day wear test) and actually see which ones are still in that Grade A category. I know preferences and expectations are prone to change but I think it’s a fabulous idea. (IMHO 😂) I know it’s probably not going to be a very easy video to do, but I honestly think that it’d be incredibly helpful to a lot of us still struggling to find “the one”. 🙏🏻🌟🥰👍🏻

Excellent review. For those who are super pale: I color match to 1N0 in the EL Double Wear. The lightest shade in this product which is also 1N0 is not only too dark upon application but dried down even darker. Shame as it felt good on. Wish EL offered the same shades in all the foundations they made so there would be no issue moving between them.

Thanks for this review! It looks great on you. I’m going to buy it tomorrow.😊 I did read that the colors run a bit darker so maybe the lightest won’t be too light for you. Estée Lauder often adds more shades once the foundation is out and selling so perhaps we’ll see more shades in this one.

I mixed this the other day with the CoverGirl TruBlend Matte Made L20 which is too light for me, and it wore wonderfully - so it looks like it can mix just fine for shade correction!

Hi Shelly, Sooo my one and only foundation is the double wear (3C1 Dusk) is my exact match. But after seeing your review of this new one, I had to give it a try. Sadly, they didn’t have my exact color, so I had to go with 3C2 Pebble. I ordered online and the consultant recommended this. It’s actually a pretty good match. I used it today, and I got some nice compliments on it. I think this is definitely worth it. My face didn’t feel dry. As I look oily during the day, after running around at work for 12.5hrs (I’m a nurse) but my skin can also go dry in spots. So even with double wear I have to use the Estée Lauder pressed powder a couple times through my shift and that does the trick. But anyway, this new one was so nice, felt great, radiant but not greasy. Thank for the recommendation!

Aww... Lovely! You know, Shell...I'd be willing to bet that a possibility for the foundation gunking / caking up a bit on your cheek might be down to the moisturiser / primer / foundation combo all not wanting to play ball together. I did have a big issue with the Belif moisturiser gunking and pilling up on me under makeup.

I have dry, fair af, 49-yr old skin - but I have better luck with powder foundation because liquid tends to sit and/or slide around on my face. I have used hydrating primer and let it set, silicone primer, jelly primer... Advice? I have tried blender sponge and brush. 🙄

Maybe no primer at all! There are a couple "grippy" primers (the one from Milk Makeup comes to mind - Hydro Grip I think it's called). Or if you can find the Elf putty primer, that'd be the last texture I can think of that you're missing.

I’ll tell yah. During the winter. I have awesome skin days, and dry patchy days... depending on the heating on in the house and the chill of cold wind against the skin. And my skin care... It would take me a week to figure out how much I like a foundation. Hahaha one day my skins perfect, the next I’m like, my nose it’s peeling. 🤔 I think the foundation looks good!!! I am wearing it for the first time today, also in Ecru. I think it is a good color match; I am not as pale as I think I can, but my undertone runs more pink, so the Ecru misses it in that respect. Im 100 % convinced,that as we age what we lack most is bright skin that is moist, make that the focus and its half the battle..women in their 40's 50's60' 70's and up MUST, ABSOLUTELY MUST MAKE TIME TO SUPER MOISTURIZE/ HYDRATE AND USE AN ANA'S. And without fail use sunscreen. Our skin, its LITTERALLY ALL ABOUT THE PRE MAKUP APPLICATION, please be the first and most honest one and get my message out to all mature skin women, its the CANVAS, beneath the makeup that will give u ur best most adoring look. My message is we are no longer in that quick fix, out the door in minutes click, that ship has sailed. Thanks, Andi! Yep my morning skin care is the Good Molecules niacinamide toner, Lancome Youth Activating Serum, Timeless Vitamin C, Belif True Cream Moisturizing Bomb moisturizer, and then sunscreen. I let that set in for 10-15 minutes and then do my makeup (primer, foundation etc).

I'd say I like this one just as much as the Renergie. And I could never find my winter shade in Renergie (I've got 3 shades and even the ones I thought would be winter are dark enough for summer for me). Hopefully you'll have luck with the Futurist too!

I haven't tried this one, but I am using the Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Serum. Estee Lauder, in my opinion, is one of The Best. I'm 34, but I am always told I look in my mid-late 20's. My late Grandma used EL and she lived upstairs from us. She always gave me the seasonal free samples. I started wearing DayWear when I was like, 8. I'll pass on the White Linen tho! lol I also think Origins, Clinique, and Too Faced are awesome .. What about u?

I bought the white and dark foundation tint from Elf and they work great when you cant find your shade and don’t want to buy 2 bottles of foundation to get your correct shade. :)

I tend to have the opposite problem. Powders always look dry on my skin. If you're looking into liquid foundations, I would recommend sticking to the more dewy finishes like this Futurist one to avoid it caking up. Also lighter coverage formulas are less likely to be cakey. The one powder foundation I do like is the Laura Geller Baked Balance and Brighten powder. I also like the new Make Up For Ever powder foundation. I wear shade R230 in that. The other powders I use are finishing powders that don't really give coverage; they're more for setting liquid foundation.

I *REALLY* appreciate it when you mention how far from the most pale shade the one you are reviewing is! I'm guessing you mean this vs the new Sheer? This one has a tiny bit more coverage I'd say but they're very similar in finish. I would liken the Sheer to something like MAC Face & Body.

I found this foundation to oxidize-like CRAZY on my arm. L’Oreal does a LOT of things RIGHT, eyeliner mascara and lip products are their strong points. I MAY try the Futurist at some other time, but I’m pleasantly surprised by the TooFaced Born This Way foundation. Its a hydrating medium to full foundation. Still gotta try the matte version.

Thank you for another great review. I'll definitely be picking this up when Macy's has their next Estee Lauder gwp event. L'oreal just launched their Age Perfect line, which includes the Age Perfect Radiant foundation. Please review that one! I hope 2020 is the year of luminous, hydrating foundations. I can't do matte anymore unless it's summer.
