The Balm Desert is my favorite summertime bronzer when I have a tan (which I realize is still pale for most people - it just has the best reddish undertone, which works so great for people on the pale end of the spectrum that normally turn pink in the sun like I do) - and the Laura Geller blushes are maybe my favorite blushes of all. I have a bunch of different shades. I rarely like how blush looks on my but I love the LG ones.

I love that piano music while you were applying makeup 🎼. I'm glad to see that "it" cosmetics came out with a different foundation. I thought you had a satin glow when you were outside too, but it looked pretty! And of course your eyes looked stunning as always😉.

Be it the formulation, color, or texture, I have yet to find an IT foundation that has worked for me. While they make some great color cosmetics and skincare, I'm giving up on trying their foundations. And they all seem to transfer! Thanks for the review, Shelly. By the way, your hair looks phenomenal. Did you recolor or cut it? The color is perfect!

I 1000% agree! I've had all of their foundation/cc creams at one point or another. I've never understood the hype? I've had this for a few weeks now...it doesn't work for my fave skin at all! I feel like they would end up selling more to their regular repeat customers, while ppl who aren't yellow don't spend a fortune finding out that IT products are mostly yellow (until their latest release, which seems to have more variety in undertones)

Great review again Shelly. I dunno, there's just something about ITC that doesn't appeal to me - I've yet to see a shade across their ranges with an undertone I like in the correct depth for me, and for the price (it's over $60 here) it's just too much for something that's not quite right. As for BB/CC type stuff - I like the look of the Aveeno that EmilyNoel loves at the moment, but I'd like to see how it looks on someone slighter fairer and more cooler-neutral than she is (especially since I'd have to track it down from overseas as we don't seem to have it here in Oz that I can find, even though we do have some of their skin care stuff here).

I enjoy a lot of the IT skin care but I haven't had great luck with their CC creams, even though everyone on the planet seems to love them. I've never found a shade match in their lines. I'll have to try and find that Aveeno!

@@goow that's what i do when trying to give it a second chance. When extra moisture doesn't help, then its a fail! 😩 honestly the only matte foundation i can do is the Ysl All hours and i mix it in with the Ysl touche eclat radiance. It gives that glowy foundation staying power all day in my salon on 12 hr days. I still hold out hope and try samples like the Makeup forever matte velvet deluxe sample.....Nope!!! Lol

Hey Chlojoe! I would say my top 5 hydrating foundations on my skin right now are the Dior Backstage, Hourglass Vanish stick, MAC Studio Sculpt or MAC Mineralize (love them both), Makeup Revolution Fast Base stick, or Ilia True Skin serum foundation. I'm so glad that you tried this I'm on the fence I do have an oily T-Zone so I may try it I don't like a complete Matt look and with you having some shine it might work for me I'll have to think about it but I'm going to need a foundation sooner than later. Right now I use the Bare Minerals powder foundation and I really really like it it seems to last a very long time and I'm happy with it but being Winter's coming I usually like to wear a cream foundation I'm not sure Shelly but thank you so much this did help me with more of a decision on this foundation

Ok... if this transfers on dry skin, I can only imagine what it does to my oily skin. I think other reviewers liked it better with finger application and no primer, I saw Risadoesmakeup review this (oily, like me)... Still not for me- the Dior face and body has held up for the past few weeks on my skin (and I didn’t need to set it- if I can do fewer steps before work... I’m all for it)

Thank you for the review doll. I thought it looked great on camera but could see the crows feet by the end of 11 hours! Could I make a suggestion? Use a hydrating primer and setting spray and something like the becca hydra powder with it. Also another suggestion..... Please could you consider not going through the whole 5 mins blurb every video at the start? It's your channel so do what ya like coz I can always skip the 1st 5 mins but it is very repitive. Xoxo

Thanks, Ginger! I typically use a hydrating primer in the winter. I have a small handful of primers that I use in reviews because I know very well how they perform and can then tell that it's a foundation performance issue rather than a primer performance issue. I tend not to use setting spray in reviews unless the foundation looks quite bad to start, because I want to see how the foundation performs on its own. (I always wear primer, thus the inclusion in reviews, but I don't always wear setting spray). Re: repetition - a majority of my views come from people that have never seen my videos before, and so they don't know that information. I hope to continue to grow my channel, which means lots of new eyes on every video - so the old-timers are welcome to skip the repetitive parts! (I try to do everything in the same order so you can tell when those parts are coming!) :)

Every review I’ve seen on that has had those same results. Pretty, but not matte. Not on dry skin, not on oily skin. I guess I’ll stick with the original one. And I agree with the “pulls yellow” thing. I’m the color of school glue, and the “fair” shade is almost too yellow.

Meh, I was so excited for this when it first came out. Now after the reviews I have seen, this one is a strong pass. When I want a lighter coverage matte I will go for the Dior Face & Body. Although I am sad and reluctant to admit I am fairly certain it breaks me out 😭

I have wondered that myself, or how many washes it would stay on there for. It doesn't feel like anything coating the brush - almost like it's infused in the bristles? I don't really understand it and think it is pretty gimmicky. But it came with one of the IT products when I bought it from Ulta as a special a while back.

It Cosmetics is sadly a miss for me. Everything I have tried is off shade wise, and although I am dry, the CC cream disappears within 4 hours on me. I want to like their stuff, but it's not working out, lol.

Randomly- Shelly, all my foundations are oxidizing. Do you think using a primer would help? If so, can you recommend a drugstore one?

I find that happens anytime my skin is a bit dry and I use an oil based primer.. All my foundations turn orange on me which sucks. Shelly could probably recommend a great drugstore primer. I like Revlons PhotoReady Perfecting primer. It's one of the few that actually blurs my pores really well and is silicone based.

I was thinking maybe you have more oily skin in the summer, which might affect your foundation. I know what you mean, I have to have sunscreen because I just burn, freckle and never tan. I use neutrogena sensitive face sunscreen spf50 and haven't noticed it affecting my foundations, but everyone's skin is different. I like it though as my skin is pretty sensitive and I have allergies to some sunscreen ingredients which make my face sting like heck!

Mefran Mefran Normally I’d say yes, but my skin is so weird! I have an oily nose, but the rest of my face is desert dry. I use Cerave AM- it’s really good for my sensitive skin. I use Neutrogena gentle face wash- I wish they didn’t fragrance most of their products! I do have a white mixer from NYX, but it takes away some coverage from the foundations. I might just have to deal with it.

It might be your sunscreen then. Shelly should know of one that shouldn't cause your foundation to oxidize.. I think she's quite a few videos on sunscreens, plus she always reinforces the fact we should use it lol. Like I said the neutrogena one I use, I've had no problems with and I don't notice any fragrance with it. I'm not a fan of using foundation lighteners either. Never found one that doesn't affect the formulation of my foundation, plus I'm secretly mad I have to pay for a foundation just to have to fix the color, lol, so I've got stubborn and refuse to buy a foundation that won't match or return it. I think a different sunscreen or putting a silicone primer over it may help the oxidation, but Shelly is more of an expert on this stuff than me. :-)

Self tanning :) I have religiously avoided the sun or slathered in SPF since I was 19 (and wish I started sooner). I would probably be fair light or fair in the winter, though the regular IT CC runs far too yellow for me in the fair shades. The latest release actually matches me pretty well, the Your Skin But Better foundation.

I always ask my client if they have dry oily or combination skin and since you have dry skin this would never be a foundation that I would choose for your skin because it is a mattifying formula therefore it is intended for people with oily skin tones only

I noticed the Sephora website says its for all skin types including dry, plus it does say on the actual product that it's a hydrating Serum. Also, I like that Shelly gives all foundations a chance, that way she's not restricting her viewers to foundations solely based on her skin type.

yeah, I can't stand this gimmicky company. The CC cream is too shiny and all the formula burn my face and gave me dermatitis that lasted months before it healed and the powders are too drying. I have super oily skin. That Jamie Kern lady gets on my nerves every time I look at her and think back to the allergic reaction I had.

Their ingredient lists are a mile long and while a lot of it is skin care, even that irks me because there's no way there is enough volume of skin care ingredients to have an impact. I have good luck with their moisturizers but have never been able to get into the CC and foundation formulas.

Still single :) I have to shift which hand I wear rings on day to day, so I just go by the rules of.... heart facing toward body = heart is taken. Heart facing out = heart is open to the world.
