I'm 45 and have tried all the It Cosmetics CC/Foundations. I'm t-zone oily. I have been using this CC Matte for 5 days now and I absolutely love it. I don't find that it settles in my forehead lines and I think it wears beautifully. I actually like this better than the It CC and It Foundation. I've received many compliments on how my skin looks smooth and even. I think its not a one size fits all foundation and some people will love it and some will hate it, as with any product. For me, it's a hug win.

I’m so glad I found this video. Thank you for making such a detailed review because I had just tried the matte version after using the original cc cream for sometime and I experienced the same exact thing, texture on the skin. And I thought my skin prep wasn’t good enough for this. So I started searching for a video that had reviewed this. I’m glad. I live in Malaysia and my skin tend to be oily with the humidity sometimes I felt the original cc cream made my skin look too oily after a long day. So I was confident this was gonna be it.

Thanks for a great review. I love hearing what everyone thinks and how it looks different on everyone. I love the original...and I have oily skin. I like the matte one too, but I like them mixed the best. I find the matte harder to blend. If I wear a good matte spf underneath or matte primer, the original looks identical to the matte on me. Not sure why they call it a matte honestly, because it has a glow to it. I do really like the matte, but I don't think I will re-purchase after wearing it now for a few weeks. I just mix a bit of Estee Lauder Double Wear in with the original if I want a bit of mattifying.

Glad you mentioned dry skin at the end... I wish there were mini versions of foundations because no matter what moisturizer I use and primers many tried an true bases look caked, then I’m stuck using up the bottle. Both versions mixed looked great on you...

Thanks so much for your review. I have never tried a CC cream before, but I think I will stay with my Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick. It seems to hold up pretty well on my oily to normal skin. I thought this CC cream looked pretty on you. I was watching one of your older videos and you were trying on lipsticks for the fall. One of those lipsticks was Marc Jacobs in the color Sonic Truth. Since I am blonde like you I thought it might look good on me so on National Lipstick Day I bought one from Sephora along with my HG lipsticks from Bobbi Brown in Pale Pink and Sandwash Pink. I am really impressed with the Marc Jacobs Sonic Truth lipstick! It looks really pretty and wears well. It is a worry free lipstick--meaning you put it on and forget about it because it looks pretty anytime you check it in the mirror. So glad you spoke about this lipstick. I went back to Sephora and bought another one. Have a wonderful day!

Its suppose to he a one stop shop... moisturizer. ... skin care and primer. I used it with my fingers like it suggested and it smoothed and blurred my pores which are quite large. And didn't settle into my fine lines and wrinkles!!! I do have to powder but I don't mind that.

I’ve been using the It Anti-Aging Armor (I’m pretty minimalist with my makeup), but it only has the one shade which is kinda putty-like on me so I have to mix it with something or top it with a powder foundation. I so wanted to try It CC Cream after watching your review, but I can’t handle products that smell so I didn’t dare ☹️ The Matte, though, sounds promising! I have super oily skin so maybe I’ll like it better than you did, especially during these super humid months. Also, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for introducing me to Hourglass Veil Primer; this stuff is totally worth the price!!

I'm 42 with combination skin so I tend to mix both too. If I have time I'll put the matte on my t-zone and the original on the rest. Or original in the winter and matte in the summer. I think the original makes your skin look juicy and with the matte It looks more elegant, so if you have combination/normal you can use both. Obviously like you say skin must be well prepped and SPF applied separately beforehand.

Recently tried the original CC and have had it settle into my one between the eye brows frown line/ wrinkle and have also noticed what your daughter noticed: how it will almost break up after many hours. And I definitely have to blot and powder. But I do love how flattering it is besides those two negatives. Just ordered the matte version and can not wait to try it!

I immediately saw the difference in the regular and matte versions on you and thought the regular looked significantly better. I wondered if the lighting was quite different since the the difference was so pronounced. I didn’t get on with the regular CC cream; the closest shade for me left a strange gray cast. I am trying the No Foundation product with an expanded shade option and it’s much better. I have dry skin and just haven’t done that well with the It Cosmetics line. Great review!!

I have the same skin type as you, I get oily and pores/texture. I was so excited to try this as the regular CC cream is too oily. I got the new kit and did not like the new Matte, it did emphasize my pores and got oily. I see you got it to work by mixing it but you should not have to do that. I have 6 of the top 8 oil controlling ones you reviewed and would say any of those are better. Thanks for that video by the way, it made me dig up some older foundations that actually work for me now. Bottom line, I am sending the new IT Matte back, was very disappointed as I had high hopes.

I was really excited about this product when I first heard about it. Now, not so much. I think the formula would be all wrong for my dry 56 year old skin, and I’ve heard that IT plans to expand the shade range in the other CC formulas soon. I want to get my hands on Fair-Light, but I’ll wait!

I too purchased the kit through the QVC sale. I have very dry skin. I should have known better. I ended up giving it to a friend. Shes in her 40's and it looked great on her. I'll stick with the original. Love it during the winter time. Right now the Neutrogena Hydrating Tint is working pretty well in this dry Texas heat. Great review!

That's what I meant about those thicker (siliconey) foundations!! They collect or else show up teeny little texture issues, as as a tiny bump, or lines, pores etc!!Nobody else who reviewed this noticed this like you did, and I've watched a lot of them. Most everyone else said they (the 2 IT CC creams) performed exactly the same.

Hi! In all my Foundation reviews, I try with various primers and powders. But I don't use setting sprays in them because not everyone uses them and it doesn't give the foundation a fair wear-test shot since the setting spray gives it more longevity. I test to see how long the foundation wears normally without enhancing with setting spray. I do use setting sprays sometimes on a daily basis though if I have a super long day or if it's extra hot/humid outside. 😘

I have tried the CC Cream in Medium Tan and the CC Cream Illumination in Medium. I recently did several days of half of each during the application with the goal of getting closer to my summer skin tone. I ended up liking both of them even better! Now...should I try the combo of the matte with the illumination?! I'm thinking only if I can get a sample of the matte, otherwise three tubes maybe a bit of overkill for one product line. I also recently purchased the CC+ powder and wondered about the same texture issue you mentioned. Currently debating on switching primers and NOW exfoliating right before I apply it just in case. This gave me wrinkles I didn’t even know I had. I also couldn’t find a color match. I mixed it with the original CC in a different shade and it worked pretty well. I can’t say I will ever wear it again on its own.

I found IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness concealer in a small pot working extremely well covering the extra redness which any foundation would left behind... They have three colors and my shade is neutral beige, works like a charm!!!!

Got this from QVC a few days ago. I was waiting on your review to see how you applied it because I also have combo/oily skin. I used it for the first time today. I used about half a pump and applied with a damp beauty blender. I’ve had it on about five hours and it still looks good. Not sure yet how I like it compared to the original CC cream.

Ok, I dropped everything to watch this, Steph!! I just tried mine for the first time today, so I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I did notice that it's thicker. I applied with a flat-top kabuki brush, and I felt like I used a lot! I'm going to try a beauty sponge tomorrow. I like that it doesn't look or feel super matte. My biggest issue with the regular CC cream is that I felt like my nose would get greasy so easily and my glasses would constantly slip down my face. I'd have to blot and/or powder several times a day. So far I have mine on for about 3 hours and it doesn't feel as greasy. So far, so good... (Also, I LOVE that warm eye look in the first check in!)

I’ve been using this since Monday. I just can’t seem to find a good combo of primer/sunscreen. This just isn’t playing well with them. Today I mixed this with the regular CC cream, and I’m not loving it. I think it’s the sunscreen, though. Going to give it a couple more days. If it doesn’t get better, I’m returning it.

Again, I've only used once, but I used the ColorScience whipped mineral sunscreen. I do notice a lot of creasing in my forehead wrinkles, but honestly that kind of stuff doesn't bother me any more at 56 years old. It is what I is! I just want something that makes my skin look even, provides a little bit of coverage, has added sun protection, and isn't greasy as hell! I'm curious to see how I feel after I wear it several times.

Jamie Bencher Try using this w/o moisturizer if you are oily & primer - You want the ingredients to absorb into your skin. This is your moisturizer & primer in one. A primer creates a barrier between your skin & foundation. This would slide off within 2 hours until I did this & now it's my holy grail💖 My dermatologist said, the best foundation to wear is one providing skin benefits & she said this cc cream absolutely does. I was so excited to order this foundation and get it. I have tried several different ways to wear this foundation and I CANNOT make it last on my skin. By lunch it’s gone from the lower half of my face. The best wear I got was with the Hourglass Veil primer and mineral veil, with a touch up in the middle of the day with powder. So disappointed

I have different skin than yours - mine is dry and the original formulation just seems to blur my fine lines and doesn't settle into them - maybe its the gel formulation?? I was so hoping that this was matte version was going to be fantastic and easy to use. However, my results were the same as you. I have a smile wrinkle on the side of my mouth and it gathered in that wrinkle. Was hoping for an easy to use combo product. I will try using a lighter layer and see if that helps too.

I don’t hate the matte cc cream but I do mix in a bit of the regular with it. To me it makes it look not so matte. I am oily but I am 57 so real matte is not as flattering. When I was younger I could wear all matte, because I was so oily. I am still oily but aging changes the way I have to wear my makeup. My skin has thinned under my eyes and I feel I have darkness and bluish areas at the end of my eyes. I know when I was young I never needed concealer, which really I wear a corrector then add a little concealer. My Mother likes the Cc cream with Illuminator. I bought it for her, she has dry skin and I knew this would be one she would like. She has great skin and has always cared for it. Of course I got Daddy’s hair and oily skin😊

The creasing on the forehead happens to me with 98% of the foundations out there. I've tried applying every little trick but still. I used a foundation from Shiseido that didn't do it, but it has been discontinued, the new self refreshing one seems to be similar to the one I used before, I'll try luck with that one. My skin is extremely oily so I did have to blot a lot, but it still wore well for up to 9 hours except for my nose. Now I wear the peach perfect from Too Faced and for as light as it is it still creases on my forehead but not as noticeable.

I loved the original version but all the citrus oils in the original did not play well with my skin and I have to stop using it. I quite like the new Matte version. I dont use a primer but I apply it over a moisturizing sunscreen. I use a sponge to sheer it out and I dont powder so it has been a pleasant surprize.

I have tried using the CC Matte many different ways. I don't like it at all. If I don't use a blotting primer then this CC Cream makes me soooooo shiny. And I'm not very oily. No matter how I apply it though, it settles into wrinkles and accentuates my pores.

I have combo skin , oily in the t-zone. I am 50, so, IT cosmetics is my go to for now. I will be getting this one Friday, I ordered from QVC. With Qvc, you get the CC cream, airbrush powder, and brush . Bought separately is expensive! I love the IT makeup brushes. I don’t use moisturizer with IT cosmetics other than eye cream. I only use primer outside of the Tzone, nothing in Tzone area, then apply CC cream then set with powder. I find this works well for me. Great video ! I just gave this away. I personally do not like IT Cosmetics because I’ve tried almost all their products and never found one that worked well for me. After 4 hours the product got greasy in my t-zone started breaking up around my chin & nose. I used it with & without a primer. I’ve given up on this product line. I’ll stick to my holy grail products that work for me. The issue I have with this Tatcha primer is the smell. It’s a nice primer once I get past the smell.

I really love the original CC! I'll stick with that. I have normal skin & I run into foundations not lasting long. This was great to watch. (all your videos are enjoyable to watch ;) I prefer a glow to my face but I was interested in your point of view. If anyone is interested I alternate my CC w/ L' oreal true match lumi W3 warm is a great match for (CC.MED)!

I had rosacea when I was about your age. I got a prescription for Metrogel, which I put on my face, after bathing each night, and the rosacea was gone in less than 6 months never came back. Your rosacea is not visible to me.

Thanks for this foundation road test. I've not had the best luck w/regular it cc cream. It's too luminous . I may try combining the two. And yes it cc does settle into my forehead lines as I'm putting on the rest of my makeup, ugh! I just have to smooth it out & set with Clinque loose powder. May I ask what do u use for your eyebrow powder /filler? Very natural & flattering.

This product is heavy on me, even with a damp sponge. Also its extremely yellow on me. I would not be able to get an SPF value from it. It felt heavy on me all day.It did a weird thing on my forehead too. It seemed to hangup on texture that I didn't even know I had. I wanted to love this. Not only did I not love it, I am very disappointed with the color and the general appearance I returned it and bought Buxom Show Some Skin. The Buxom looks great on my mature skin. I could not be happier with it.

Hi Stephanie. I was not a fan of the original CC cream, because it felt too heavy, and it transferred on everything. I won't be trying the matte version, due to my extremely dry skin. I do like many of the IT Cosmetics products, but have yet to find a foundation that I like from them.

Stephanie Marie that's the one that I haven't tried. I'll have to search it in ULTA, because, like you, I have golden undertones, and would need to see what the Light shade looks like. Sometimes their colors are too orange, or have a gray under cast, mostly likely from the SPF. Thanks, Stephanie! 😘
