so i work as nurse in a psychiatric clinic. there is certain mental illnesses you have to play a bit alongside otherwise you are "the enemy" and anythoing you say will be ignored. There is certain mental illneses, where you have to speak very carefully about delusions and reality or else you might push the person over the edge. There is mental illnesses, that you must notplay along with and confront the person with the consequences every time. But never ever do you encourage mental behaviour or thought. Also mentally ill people belong in therapy not in a tv show, being catered to. Indeed id say mentally ill people should not watch scifi, fantasy or otherwise unrealistic material AT ALL as it might give them further misconceptions about reality and deepen their issues... imagine someone seeing the Acolyte and thinking - oh so killing your own family aint a big deal after all you just gotta say sorry to the police and theyll welcome you in, as they do with the main "villain" of the show and the jedi....or telling someone with such issues police / jedi are indeed evil and need to be punished... yeah you are creating murderers disney, great job

I think you're slightly wrong. It's people who are desperate for popularity, yes....but I believe it's the unpopular kids from school (especially highschool) that are seeking that what they feel entitled to. They were feeling the same back in school but they couldn't hide behind a screen and fake who they really are and they couldn't gang together with similar types from around the globe back then. They are only a few in every location, so it's only online that they have support/allies. My experience of them is that they always felt entitled to popularity and getting their way, but they're unlikable weirdos, so they can only succeed if they hide behind a screen and plays a role. That's the core, the bulk of them. Several other types has latched on out of opportunism though. Muppets that jump on every popular bandwagon just so that they can fool themselves that they are popular. What do you think?

Grew up as a normal kid who loved Star Wars. I now have young kids that I was excited to introduce into the SW universe, now I doubt I'll show them anything besides episodes 4-6 and Rogue One, if I even bother. Pretty disappointed.
