I didn't fully appreciate this film when I was younger. But, I think it's absolutely brilliant. For not relying on action scenes. This film is about something, and it favors story first. I love listening to these commentaries.

I think the best reason for Mystique being naked as her shapeshirting ability works better without having to change out of her suit and 1st Class's better excuse is it takes a lot of strain of her to hold a shape for any amount of time and she just wants to relax. Also she is a bit of hippy revolutionary in that movie!

Hey guys, the guy who did the score for Xmen First Class is Henry Jackman. He also did the score for Kick Ass before this (no surpirse since they're both directed by Matthew Vaughn). Also I really hope you two do a First Class commentary, its my personal favorite of the series and would love to hear what you guys have to say.

Now have you guys ever noticed Jean's lining on her costume changes from green in the first movie to red in the following two? And what do you think of the of color lining on each X-man's costume matching a prominent color on their comic book costume like Cyclops has blue, Wolverine has orange, Rogue has green and so on?

I also love how inspirational the way they did Nightcrawler was. For example it looked to me like it inspired the way his teleportation effect was done in the video game Marvel Ultimate Alliance. And that wasnt even in the same continuity as this movie...

The crazy thing is how John Ottman went on to score both of TIm Story's "Fantastic Four" films...which funny enough, you can very much argue that his scores are the best components of those films as well. He also did "Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later," but Dimension stepped in and hired Marco Beltrami to do additional music that wasn't as good as what Ottman said he had in mind.

I just watched X2 for the first time in a long time. I had forgotten how excited I was for the Phoenix Saga. I was was shaking. Shaking with excitement to see the bat-crap crazy alien stuff I remembered from the animated series translated to screen. I forget who I saw it with, but I was explaining everything we were going to see in the next few movies. What a shame. Can somebody explain to me why Jean couldn't do what she did from the inside of the Blackbird?

I've seen it. My feelings still haven't changed. It's obvious she was doing it in jest. She's bashing everyone, but it's pretty clear that she is playing up the "obnoxious actress" joke onstage. There is a reason why everyone is clapping and laughing because they get the humor. Some of the people she is bashing is actually there on stage with her. It's an act. It wasn't serious at all. You ask her in a real manner she probably would admit that the movie just didn't turn out like she hoped.

That wasn't my point my point was he pulled a 30X30 wall of ice out of thin air he could've just frozen the whole lake! I'd think freezing water vapor in the air is a lot harder than freezing already condescend mass of liquid water water. Especially ice cold water in that era!
@Fallows198512 жыл бұрын
well with the panels u did with eric you'd think there wouldn't be much more you could say about the films but from your other commentaries there is. 2bh its quite sad that Cyclops was killed off in the next movie cos apparently they were going to develop him way more than they had done with his guilt about Jeans death and pushing the X-Men to not make the same mistake.

I didn't mind first class's explanation of mystique becuase I read it as yoy wouldn't look at a tiger and say it should be hidden from the world becuase of its majesty and regality. you'd let it display what it truly is which is a beautiful creature. same with mystique. she shouldn't cover up her blue skin becuase that's part of who she is. the same as the tiger's regal looks and beautiful fur is part what makes a tiger a tiger

Nice review. I had an issue with Shades and his take on Halle Berry as Storm though. I'm not the biggest fan of her here also, but I think you guys blow it way out of the water and put too much blame on her. There were reports that she wanted more screen time and character development back then, as Storm was under utilized in the first two films. As for her words about Warner Bros, we weren't there and who is to say it wasn't take out of context? Kind of surprised by you two. Sorry, just sayin.
