That's a really good phone and great camera (I think videos could be improved). As for updates they've been giving proper security patches without bugs in g42 ( that's the only one I know from personal experience rather than assuming the updates to be delayed).

It's a wrong perception I would say. Yes, Motorola is slow in updates. Still I would take a stable update over crappy updates any day even if it comes slow. Have been using moto phones for 7+ years now - never had an issue in the phone with updates from Motorola.

Motorola is launching good smartphones but they need to work on few things to be the 1st option for customers: 1. Timely updates for handsets 2. Improve camera quality (for older smartphones as well) 3. Improve the accessories availability. It is very very difficult to get a good quality screen guard/tempered glass and back case for Moto phones. Even the popular models like Edge 40 and Edge 40 Neo do have tempered glass/cases available on well known websites.

Their phone cases are almost non existing,it is almost impossible to find a good back cover for moto phones which is bad imo. Motorola should fix this because the backcover in the packaging is realy not that good,when your phone falls on the screen your screen wil be damaged,no protection at all

I loved how consistent the exposure and white balance were in the video when switching between the three lenses. A couple of months ago I was going ga ga over the OP12 and then I saw its video recording capability, and that was a deal breaker for me. I know that this phone is half that price and certainly not that capable but its video recording capability appears to be better.

my pixel's display broke yesterday so that's why I'm exploring options for a new device. Honestly edge 50pro seems a good deal. Specifically its display, charging, ip68. Processor is also good as I've used sd730g and being a non gamer I've never faced issue with that processor and compared to that "sd 7gen3" is definitely a good upgrade. Camera sensors are pretty capable but if we don't like the end result we can definitely tweak it a little bit in the photo editing app. I owned pixel and even there I hsd to do some minor tweaks some times. So overall I think this device can do and handle everything. (I'm not a moto fanboy) Synthetic benchmarks are mjsleading so don't go on that and "ufs2.1" thingy on edge 50 pro is not a problem as in beebom's video we can see that the "ufs2.1" is at par with nord's "ufs3.1"

Motorola has been doing some good work now and they are bringing some really good devices at very competitive price. I, myself, am using Edge 40. They still need to really improve their software update situation. These A14 and the software features should tickle down to other Edge series phones as well and asap. They need to provide these accessories whether wall chargers or the cases on their website or marketplaces as well. Finding a good screen protection for a curved screen is really tough.

Hello Ranjit, will you have any time to address the best smartphones for under 30k segment? Separated by category. By April 1st week, we will have a lot of capable devices. But it's making things a lot more confusing.. Nothing 2a, Oneplus Nord CE 4, Samsung M55, Moto Edge 50 pro, Realme 12 pro plus, Poco X6 pro.. Just to name a few devices in the segment.

I have been a Moto user for the past 10 years or so. I love Moto because of its clean UI and natural looking photos. Motorola never skips on providing good hardware like other brands. I was using Edge 30 and the camera was excellent. Moto is coming up with so much good phones for the past few years. This Edge 50 is really a great upgrade to Edge 30.

Moto is my first mobile. To this date I admire moto brand. Earlier it used to be costly but now a sort of budget brand. Moto used to be the only brand with updates in past. Now all brands are providing updates and sucking devices but haven't heard of any from moto. Reliable Update>>>>>Frequent updates

Hey Ranjit, an observation. I watched this video wearing my headphones. Moments where we showed how the front and rear camera perform while video recording I could see voice coming only one of the speakers.. while you shot using front facing camera I could mostly hear from the left and while you shot using the rear it was the right side. Not sure if this is my headphone problem or if the mics catch sounds differently in this phone.
