I’m enjoying the bike so far kzbin.infoUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

Love this build, but I disagree with the idea that you need to disconnect both hydraulics go change the headset bearings?

You will have to bleed the brakes a few times before you need to change a headset bearing on a road bike, so thats not really an issue. Headset bearings on road bikes can go years without issues, while bleeding is an advised thing to do every year, maybe sooner if you ride a lot. So you can do that together if needed.

True - but I'd assume you wouldn't need to disconnect the hoses to re-bleed the brakes? But depends on a case by case basis I guess

But like, you bleed the brakes a few times a year, then at the end of season (or start, depends when you do your seasonal big maintenance), you change the bearings and then bleed the brakes too in one turn. If you need to clean it or apply grease in mid season, you don't need to disconnect it, as far as I can see from here, the hose lets enough play to do that without it.

@@LordArthurWellesley I think the cable routing is more so the issue with a fully integrated bar and stem. Some bars are a pain to route (and others are easy like the canyon bar) so it is sometimes easier to disconnect at the brake to replace headset bearings. That said, there are inline hydraulic brake disconnectors that can be installed and hidden within the frame. will add a few grams but makes servicing a lot easier.
