Nice review, thanks for that 👍I’ve got the same bivy and use it with a tarp when it’s raining. I prefer to leave the upper door open an use only the mesh door, to prevent condensation inside. With a tarp as a rain and wind shield it works great. Have fun 👍

Hi buddy, I too use a tarp when in rainy conditions as a single lined tent would never be enough, however I was caught out with this bivvi when I didn’t take one and found it to be ok as long as you open both are ways at the top and bottom of the tent. thanks for your comment.

I suffered quite badly with condensation even with the door open, but then the fabric isn't breathable, and it was raining when I set up so boots and coat were already damp. It didn't leak from the rain though. My only criticism is that despite being camouflaged it has highly reflective tie out points and guy ropes which kind of defeats the purpose. Other than that good shelter for yhe price.

Hi Dave Thanks for the comment, I have had condensation issues when I've used my rab 1100 sleeping bag. I put this down to being too hot. What I normally do now is leave the top open and use a tarp over the top, this helps with the ventilation and I haven't had any condensation issues since. But like you say for the price you can't knock it.

Interesting review looks a good bivvi. I’m looking to wild camp here in Kent. I’m looking at bivvis as opposed to tents as they are more stealthy and Kent is fairly populated so the need to be discreet is more preferable than many other parts of the country. One question though I’m hoping to take my dog who is a similar size to your dog there. Like yourself I am ‘fairly athletic’ but as a side sleeper do you think there would be room for myself and my dog in this bivvi as a squeeze. Cheers

Hi Buddy, I would have to say it would be a squeeze if i am honest but you could do it. i have had the dog in with me but never all night. hope this helps. ps lovely part of the country, my parents had a holiday home in Margate so growing up i was always there.

Thanks for the reply appreciate that. Yeah Kent is a lovely place. I'm more North Kent not too far from the North Downs. There is acres of countryside but although it does usually get too busy I still think a lower profile is best when wild camping. I'm looking mainly at this and the Trekmates Squall or maybe the Snugpak Ionosphere. Thanks again

Hi Henric The tent is rated Up to PU5000 MM waterproof grade with the outer tent fly and the tent floor is PU8000 MM, fully seam taped and double stitching, so it is waterproof. I have used this tent in the rain and if you watch Dartmoor Quarry Wild camp video it was raining in the morning. I have had no problems with it however I haven’t been in a heavy rain scenario only light rain. Hope this helps.

Nice review! Did you get much condensation when you had it fully zipped-up in the rain? I've got a cheap Chinese bivy which I'm trying to modify to cope with the condensation problem. If it doesn't work, I might buy this one. Cheers!

As a single walled tent you will always get a little bit of condensation, but the bivvi has air vents at the top and bottom as the air flow was fine. Hope this helps

It was okay in my bivi with the main door open when I used it for the first time the other night, but when the rain came and I had to close the door I was soon drowning in condensation. I've just cut out a section at the foot end and covered it with mesh to make a vent, so hopefully there will be better airflow and less condensation when I next use it. Cheers!

How did you get the poles into those grommets/eyelets without breaking the poles or ripping the eyelet apart? I'm still trying to figure this out since morning. It's really annoying.

i am sorry your having problems, All I can say is I just pushed it though gently. Are you laying the bivy out flat before you try to get them in ?
