These are geese and sheep in the Shetland Islands near the rural village of Hoswick, Scotland, UK on 5/15/23. This village, Hoswick, is technically and legally I think part of the village of Sandwick, which contains several distinct and separate "settlement" including Hoswick, but apparently many people regard Hoswick as separate enough to be considered its own separate village apart from Sandwick, and honestly that is how our tour guide appeared to treat it. As you can tell by the audio, our tour guide is a bit surprised at the number of geese here and presumably she has been to Hoswick many times before. We saw this while on our way back to the A970 highway, the main north south highway on the island, after having taken a single lane road through Sandwick and ended up in Hoswick where we had a scheduled break in our Viking excursion that was ultimately to take us all the way to the far south of the main Shetland Island, Shetland Main. The terrain in general and the sheep especially are quite representative of what large areas of rural Shetland Main look like. Because this is mid-May, there are lots of young lambs everywhere you find sheep. This Viking ocean cruise excursion was called "Ancient Civilizations of Shetland," and the cruise itself was named British Isles Explorer. As mentioned, our ultimate goal driving-wise this day was the far southern tip of Shetland Mainland, Sumburgh, which contains some ancient civilization ruins and sites and also is where the airport is located. At this point in the excursion we are about halfway between Lerwick, the capital and where we started, and our destination of Sumburgh which contains several ancient civilization sites.
