And Palpatine knew it was also a possibility Kenobi didn't survive a fight with the Jedi killer Grievous, even though he was the most capable of taking him on. Palps needed both Kenobi and Grievous dead after the Battle of Utapau for his plans, so the plan was that whichever one survived their duel would be killed by the Clones.

I always liked the Battle of Utapau. I didn't know alot about it. But it was interesting. Seeing the beginning of the end was very interesting. Showing it wasn't a victory for the Republic and not just a defeat for the CIS, but a victory for the new Galactic Empire.

Of course it was also formerly a nice hideout for Darth Sidious and Count Dooku to hide a giant cyber crystal in the clone wars, probably meant for the Death Star.

I'd argue Cody wasn't putting his full effort into finding Obi-Wan, since that Trooper did tell him nobody could have survived that fall and Cody seems to go with it and tell the troops to start loading onto the ships instead of continuing the search. Now if Cody had been putting full effort into the search he would have known better and known that Obi-Wan would have survived that given how long he worked with him, so it seems to me at least, he was fighting his chip and conditioning a bit and not putting his full efforts into finding Obi-Wan in the hopes he would manage to escape. I'd like to think at least a few Clones while not able to fully resist their chips could at least resist a little bit and do something, even something very minor to help their Jedi and at least by them some time.

The battle of Utapau is so fascinating. Fascinating enough to make me mad at Disney for not including the Utapau Kyber crystal arc to Clone Wars season 7 to show us more of Utapau. Star Wars EU is so full of fascinating lore and tons of little tidbits and massively detailed battles it’s amazing.

In their defense, they were only greenlit for 12 episodes, so that limited what they could do. And naturally, the Siege of Mandalore had to be a part of this so that leaves them with 8 episodes. Then with the planned Bad Batch spin-off, it made sense to do the Bad Batch episodes to introduce them, as well as show that Echo had survived and after everything that happened to Domino Squad I think showing Echo had survived was an important thing to do. So that left them with only 4 episodes. Of course, they didn't have to do the terrible Martz Sisters arc they could have done something better. I know they wanted to have a lead in to explain why Ahsoka was with Bo-Katan and the others for the final arc, but they could have either just had Ashoka briefly explain how they met when she was talking to Obi-Wan and Anakin or at the very least only do a one episode lead into the final arc, not dedicate an entire story arc. Those other 3 episodes could have been used to tell better stories, like the Utapau one, they would have need to condense something to fit 3 episodes instead of 4, but still, they could have done it.

I freaking wish they finish that arc one day. Is tragic we don’t get to see such brilliant writing and performance realised in animation, and it just shows where Clone wars was going at that point, when it was cancelled. It was truly becoming the “really great tv show” George initially envisioned. Still I’m very glad they released that unfinished content at all! It is very sad though. I completely agree

To answer your question for requests: More like a careful time table between Order 66 & the Shut Down order for the CIS droids. I pretty much assumed that the clones won the day when the droids were switched off…

When you think about it, it was a wise move on Palpatine's part to commence Order 66 when Kenobi was heading an assault force this large. He likely knew it would take a lot for Kenobi to be taken down even if it was by surprise.

I have an urgent question: is the 501st one of the four legions that make up the 7th Sky Corp? In the Clone Wars Episode, Rookies, Cody tells the new clone troops that he’s their new boss, but they join the 501st. It would also make sense in the context of the battles of Utapau and Umbara. Both the 501st and 7th Sky were present, but the 7th is so large that it would contain enough battalions to take both planets. Anakin wasn’t a Jedi master, so he was placed in command of a smaller clone unit than Obi-Wan, but they worked together prior to the wars, so it makes sense that they would be placed in command of the same unit, Obi-Wan being the commanding officer and having other units beyond Anakin’s as well. If this is the case, Pong Krell is also likely to be the general of a legion in the 7th Sky Corps. Just something I’ve been thinking about for a while.

Some places give me that a legion with a standard size is non-canon, while others say four make up a corps instead of four companies.

Realistically, I don't believe they would help each other as it would still be the Republic vs the CIS, but they would also both be fighting against the Jedi. If Kenobi did capture Grievous and they survived being executed by the Clones, Grievous most likely wouldn't hesitate to use this betrayal to break Kenobi's spirit and finish him off himself the moment he got the chance, or he would shout something like "I would rather die than help the likes of you, Jedi scum!" The idea is interesting, but it probably wouldn't be your regular 'Good Guy and Bad Guy Team Up' kind of story.

I made this thought a while back, and I came to the same conclusion as you have. But, then I thought, how desperate would he have to be to align himself with kenobi? What if he had been fatally wounded in his duel, to the point where he can’t fight. I feel like he would see what’s coming (order 66, order 99, the rise for the empire). Knowing this, I feel like he would either try and flee, on the planet swarming with clone troopers that would most likely kill him on site, or try and align himself with kenobi to have a better chance to survive and escape the planet. So I’m not saying that your wrong in any way, not at all. It’s only a thought of mine that would be cool as hell to see and ik everyone here would like to see an alternate timeline where that happens.

I could see Grievous getting desperate enough to work with Kenobi, even if to save his own life, that seems like something he would do, even if he then tried to kill Kenobi right after that. But whether Grievous would actually learn from that experience or immediately go back to his old Jedi killing ways would be an interesting story in its own right.

i always like to ask people i know who the good guys are when watching prequel trilogy, but I always phrase it like the jedi/republic used a slave army of clones who have accelerated lives and can do nothing but war. or the trade federation using an almost all droid army. so the peacekeepers who were the generals of the republic, or literal traders sick of the stagnant failing republic. the movies don't do this justice the clone wars did

Now the question is: what if order 66 never happened....then we probably would have never got the Storm Trooper's because the Storm Trooper's armor is made out of the Clone armor....also it might just be me but obviously the battle of Utapau takes place before the first early Star Wars films were released and that's fascinating to me because the first Star Wars movie takes place years and years after the fall of Aniakin Skywalker and Order 66 and tragic downfall of the Galactic Republic, now in the prequels we slowly began to see a new and somewhat darkside of Aniakin but just a hint of it, during all of this Obi-Wan has been facing challenges like struggling with a relentless Aniakin Skywalker a made and not very happy Aniakin Skywalker and General Grevious, also Obi-Wan is tasked to capture or kill General Grevious and when he finally kills Grevious Obi-Wan was shockely betrayed be Commandor Cody thus beginning Order 66, also the one question is what if Aniakin Skywalker was there with Obi-Wan....

you forgot a Jedi that Cody shot after the order was stated. that's where he got his scar. its along his Right hand. a symbolic part of him, holding deeper meaning towards biting the hand that fed him, poetic considering Cody was eventually eaten by a Swamp rancor.

@@skinnyj123 I'm telling you. he dies to a rancor on Dagobah doing a inspection of a outpost that was suspected of being used by a local gang to sell spice and other contraband, the smugglers were selling a rancor to the Hutts gang(a new one for Jabba, sadly he died before getting it) , and he was thrown into its cage, it cuts off after that with a rancor's shadow over him, his weapons and grenades gone and stuck with no armor plating, it leaves the reader to believe he was Eaten. the comic leaves off after 2 more issues having a particular set of fresh bones as this former outpost turned smuggler den is then visited by Darth Vader himself. series ends with the smugglers, as its main characters are cad Bane and a robot called Stix'sy-5, a reprogrammed Commando Droid. There is no further issues of the comic, I should know, I wrote it in 2006, and it was published in 2010 to Legends, and G. Lucas liked it a lot being a poetic end to a tired old clone he couldn't find a end for..

The End of Bane it fallows a bounty hunter named Cadio Bane nicknamed "Cad" I think the story inspired the Clone Wars writers with the interpretations of the character a bit as I did share my first drafts around in 2007 with a friend who eventually joined on creating the digitally animated series there should be 500 copies of it out there somewhere it didn't sell much due to the Drama going on at the time, I don't own the rights to the work I did as it was given to the Lucas Co., Disney likely now owns it and due to the merge, I doubt you find a copy anyway, they kind of wiped all the legends era materials they did own (even the originals given to the company) I cried myself for a good hour when I read that announcement
