Even in universe I *could* see them adopting it after Return of the Jedi, with them viewing Yavin as the turning point and when the treasured Republic finally could return, with the largest swathing empire in history being toppled. However I could also see Operation Knightfall and/or the end of the Clone Wars as being significant enough for the calendar to be based around as well. Operation Knightfall had the most significant religion in galactic history ended over night, and in that same night, the end of the longest republic in history, and the rise of a new empire. The end of the clone wars could also fit as it was not only the first galactic war in a thousand years, it was on a scale almost inconceivable due to it causing a Civil War or at least tensions on almost every inhabited planet, making it larger than any galactic war between two armies could ever be. It was a battle of the culture and viewpoint of the galaxy, and it's end changed everything too. Sorry for the long post hahaha I just thought your comment was really interesting to think about, what events could be significant enough to have a calendar based around it in universe

Hey I’ve got some really great news to share with you, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on a cross and resurrected on the third day so you may all have eternal life. If you believe and repent of your sins and put your faith and trust in Him as you would a parachute jumping off a plane at 25000 feet up in the air, He will give you eternal life in heaven as a free gift and I promise you, He will change your life forever as He did mine. He is the ONLY way to heaven and He loves you all. Please think deeply about this with urgency because this is your eternal life and soul, you don’t know when you could die, meaning you could die at any moment, so please consider this with all your heart. If anyone tells you that Jesus isn’t the only way, they are lying to you and they don’t care about your future.

I loved this series when it came. I always did like learning history. Even learning history from fictional worlds and factions. Plus I always loved learning how the Republic came to be. No matter how corrupt it can be. Like I've always told people, if I fought for the Republic during the Clone Wars, I would still fight for it. But after Order 66, I would resign. Because in the end, neither the Republic nor Separatists won.

Excellent . I've seen quite a few SW history videos and none have delved into the expansion periods. They usually just name the expansion areas and Times . Love this

@@emeryoldham48 not really. Leftism is just generally any spectrum of leftist ideology (i.e. social equality/egalitarianism) What Palpatine did with the empire was nationalization and authoritarian/dictatorial structures, those systems of government however stand seperate to political systems. Both Fascism as extreme Rightwing and Socialism as extreme leftwing were at times authoritarian. Hell, you could even say Centrism was Autocratic through the system of Monarchism. Beyond that, Palpatine only really started nationalization of key sectors after he took power, which in the original 1970's star wars was a critique to the rapid buildup and political intertwine of the military industrial complex in the US under president Richard Nixon due to the vietnam war

Disney had all the lore and source material of the past 50 YEARS! They could of made the 3 movies follow the legacy of the force books and it would of been amazing.

So been looking forward to this compilation video since you started this history series. No I didn’t know this video was coming, but still look forward to more ancient Star Wars history videos you put out.
