Geissele does make their barrels in house for both the URGI and Super Dutys. They did farm out their barrels years back to DD, However it has been a few years all their barrels being done in house

I absolutely love my complete Geissele Super Duty! Mine has been flawless and the trigger is amazing! The only thing I changed was the grip. Then I added a red dot, light, and sling.

Both Giessle and DD make their own CHF chrome lined barrels which is why both my high round count rifles use those barrels. Very accurate too sub MOA with multiple different loads.

I don’t know if it’s been requested yet, but you should try to get ahold of a LWRCi IC-DI (Direct Impingement) model to meltdown. I think their heavy spiral barrel might do really well.

I look forward to seeing that one if it happens. I've put a little over 300 through mine (semi auto obviously) as fast as I could just goofing off between drills. It was still cool enough I could hold the proprietary angled foregrip and handguard without a glove. Can't do that with any of my other rifles. Even my M4A1 SOCOM ris ii gets unpleasantly warm with that many rounds through it. The spiral fluting makes a noticeable difference.

I want to chime in and say that I think it would be really cool to see how a HBAR or taper profile middy home build would stand up to this test because I wonder how much is down to the profile and gas lengths rather than the name. For example Del-ton offers chrome lined HBAR barrels for a little over 100 bucks and I think their dissipator HBAR with chrome lining might do surprisingly well considering where most of these uppers seem to be failing

That's more like it. For the money, that's the level of performance I'd expect. I once saw a CMMG go over 1000 rounds, but this is much better than the DD.

Which CMMG went over 1K? I remember the mutant, but that’s 7.62x39. A lot less pressure than 5.56

​@@GoldenWebbI believe you're right, it was the 7.62x39 version. Over on Iraqveteran8888, they burned down a POF, and I think it went nearly 1000 rounds. The gas port eroded, and essentially turned it into a straight pull bolt action rifle, but nothing blew. You really should consider heavier facial and neck protection. A piece of shrapnel could sever a jugular vein or corotid artery in your neck. You'd be gone before the EMTs could get to you. Be safe.

We need a 2023 updated version to the POF P415 (but you’d need their full auto BCG), do a LWRC IC DI upper and a piston upper from them if possible. I’d like to see anything from PWS, and of course BCM. I believe the POF still holds the crown for the lasting the longest.

@@GoldenWebb I believe the POF is pretty much the same, I’m interested to see if QC has remained the same since the owner passed away. I haven’t seen anyone burn a POF down since iraqveteran8888 did it like 7 years ago. I have two of their P415 edge uppers, one in 556 and one in 300 blackout, I also have the LWRC DI upper and a PWS MK116 pro, they’re all fantastic guns. My LWRC became my dedicated Night Vision carbine.

@@gqtilebath yep, I think it went 2500+ rounds, I’d like to see a PWS also a piston, but long stoke. Iragveteran8888 ran other piston Ar’s like the Adams arms P1 and it did about the same as a DI gun before shitting the bed. I wanna see LWRC’s DI gun, it’s one of the best in its class for the money, but extremely over gassed, you need an H2 or H3 buffer in those uppers.

I sure do appreciate the kind works my friend. This Geiselle gas tube and barrel have for sure surpassed my expectations on both gas tube and barrel life. That being said, I’m a huge fan of LMT, I’d love to do one of them. KAC as well. FN would be nice as well. The biggest thing I’ve seen so far with barrel life is that the less front weight you have, the better. I believe a colt SOCOM barrel would be hard to beat. That being said, the Geissele barrel profile is government and it’s the longest lasting barrel so far. I’m not sure what would be the best mixture now

It would just go down to what kind of barrel you put into it. Referencing the Daniel meltdown the barrel give out in it before the gas tube did. We are melting another Daniel soon though

I will start by saying I do find these videos entertaining! I just don't want new people to the gun community to think that this type of test is an indicator of brand quality. I am active duty army and we rarely go full auto. You will almost never run 7+ mags full auto in a real scenario. I encourage people to buy ammo and train and get meaningful reps in. Mag dumping in a pile of trash wont make you better or enhance any skill set you are working on. With that said I do find these types of videos entertaining; keep up the good work!

Your comment made no sense. How can you say these videos are no indicator of brand quality. If a knights 16” govt profile barrel blows at 500 rounds and a Geissele 16” govt profile barrel makes it past 900 with no barrel damage how on earth does that not indicate any sort of quality difference at all? Obviously one has a better metal type or metallurgy, forging, finish, treatment, production metrics, quality control and composition along with superior hardness, tensile, impact and mpi testing. Barrels blowing out, losing headspace, fire cracking, throat and muzzle erosion etc ARE a thing you know.

Love your videos. Glad I found your channel. Would you try to meltdown a heavy SOCOM barrel. I heard SOCOM barrels replaced the government profile because they could hold the sustained fire so the barrels were beefed up to last longer and prevent the barrels from blowing out like the DD government profile did. Also the super duty barrel profile is a little bit thinner than government it’s a geissele taper so I was very impressed to see this! I love my Geissele’s I’d like to see their 11.5 done just to see if it holds up the same

I live my Geissele's but it would be nice to see a quality build with a criterion core barrel and v7 gas tube. I think the tapered barrel will help with barrel droop and the v7 inconel gas tube is a beast. It better be for 70 beans

Yeah dude, all of the super duty rifles/uppers use the geissele chf barrel. The URGI used to use a DD barrel but has since been switched to the geissele chf barrel as well.

I got a little carried away back when they first launched during their Black Friday sale in 2019 and wound up buying 4 of them (one in each color). It's okay because they are fantastic rifles, and I only paid half of what they sell for now, which was definitely a "Super" deal. After observing the rate of fire and ejection pattern in the video, I assume you weren't running the stiffer Super 42 braided wire spring and H2 buffer combo that comes in the complete rifles. I wonder if the accelerated rate of fire caused it to heat up faster and fail sooner than expected. Also, I'm sure the "Geissele Profile" (not govt) cold hammer forged chrome lined 4150 CMV barrel is what helped it run as long as it did. Govt profile barrels are just dumb because they're weakest in the section that needs to be the strongest. I'd be curious to see a meltdown of a Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 Pro upper that utilizes their 18" heavy "strength-to-weight" continuous taper profile barrel or an old Colt HBAR upper. You'd make it to a pretty high round count with something like that, especially if you were using an Inconel gas tube.

Thank you for you comment brother! I actually did use the H2 and tri coil spring. Also, we noticed about 200 rounds in the gun started running quicker which could have meant the gas port was eroding. We also observed ejection pattern go from 3:30 to 2 o clock which is evident of this occurring. We will be melting down another Daniel defense, this time the RIS III 14.5 so stay tuned for that one! Issued SOCOM URGIs are Daniel barrels, Geissele makes a "near clone" variant with their house made barrels.

Yea this is why it did so much better than the government daniel. I'd like to see the urg-i with the government profile to see if that is what made the difference as I think it is. This rifle is supposed to be everything better than the urg-i. Geissele trigger, key hole lock up on the rail, improved profile more like socom where it's large and tapers smaller reverse of government a2 profile!
