I like the pigment inks with the gold ink overlays, just so beautiful in the simplicity of your layout of stamped images and sentiments. TFS!

Love seeing all the different looks of each medium-especially the inks. I’m just a newbie to the gel press but I love it! Love seeing more cardmakers using it to make cards. That bold blue/gold/pink card is stunning!

Appreciate knowing the effects one will get when using, in my case, my unused gel press. Really love the gold with the Coral Berry and Ruby Red lotuses.

Thanks so much for helping me to understand about the dye ink. I haven’t had good luck with the dye ink, but now I’ll try it again.

I've had a gel press for a while, but really thought that only acrylics worked on it, so I didn't try using it yet. I like the first card shown and my second pick would be the last card. Great process walkthrough. I think I'll give it a try with one of my layering sets and my inks.

I love the gold, too! Especially how you layered over your first prints. I have not used gold pigment ink on my gel plate before, but will try it. I have used a light layer of gold paint to pull prints and have liked that as well.

Thanks, Danielle! I’ve used gold acrylic pretty too though the sparkle is more subtle.

I have done the dye inks and acrylics but didn’t think of pigment inks. I have to try it. I’m getting more comfortable with the gel press and love the backgrounds I can get. My favorite (this is hard) is the darker one. That gold just makes them all very special.
@NotableInk3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much. That's my fave too. Definitely play around with all the media you have and see what works. You can also use alcohol markers and alcohol inks. You'll just need to cover them with a layer of paint to pull the print. Happy printing!

As I am just learning how to 'gel plate print' and had been thinking about collage backgrounds, plus perhaps card making - soooooo happy to have stumbled across your KZbin channel. STUNNING Creativity!! The cadence of your voice is MOST pleasant to listen to, thereby it seem easier for Me to absorb what you are trying to teach. Thank you VERY much - SIMPLY STUNNING cards! (:

Amazing - it looked like the acrylic paint attempt was going to be a hot mess while you were brayering - of course I knew it wasn't because you were showing it but if I were doing it I would have been very disheartened. Gorgeous cards!

I love the comparison. I'm holding off 🙈 I felt my distress inks were drying way too fast so I fear I won't be able to use it with acrylics at all. I do love a more bold look. But these all work. Love the gold! If that gold ink pad had been more juicy would it still have left a "distressed" look on the cards? Or would it have covered everything up?
@bethjackson87273 жыл бұрын
I’ve held off buying a gel press because I didn’t want to invest in a whole new set of paints i.e acrylic. Now I’m going to buy one and use my inks.
@NotableInk3 жыл бұрын
Yay, I'm glad it was helpful to see you can use inks. You can also use alcohol markers and alcohol inks too. There are lots of different media that work and they all produce their own unique look and texture. It's been fun to experiment for sure. Thanks, Beth!

Both dye and pigment inks are water based. In dye inks, the pigment dissolves, whereas in pigment ink, the particles are bigger and it's held in suspension. Both clean up with water rather than solvents.
