Very informative video. I found the foil press brand new with all the accessories (plates, carry bag, dies,etc) at my goodwill for $10! I grabbed it up, then realized you have to have the Gemini jr AFTER I also found a Gemini on fb market place for $94 (45 minute drive)……..Ugh now I am going to have to get larger plate! Almost wishing I would have left foil press at goodwill now!

Excellent tutorial. Very clear instructions. Gonna wait for mine till the new year. Too many other new item I've bought and haven't even tried yet. Stamps and dies and inks and foil I mean. Own no heat n press foil machine. You should get a commission . PS That was so informative , you may end up being a spokes person for this product. I`ll keep my fingers crossed. A dear hello from Germany, dear Nancy and thank you very much for your detailed video. Now I will order this machine, although I am not sure if it will work properly with my big Gemini. I haven't used my Gemini very often yet and only yesterday I noticed that I simply can't run the 3D folders according to instructions. Somehow the machine doesn't accept anything thicker. You have to get the Gemini adapter plate for the full size Gemini or it won't work.

Thank you for your very informative video. I have the Go Press N Foil machine BUT hate having to crank the platform through the Big Shot or trying to determine the shims necessary to obtain the optimum foiling results. Fortunately, I have a Gemini Jr & absolutely love die cutting with it. I have a large collection of Anna Griffin, Couture Creations, Glimmer & Scrapbooking Made Simple HotFoil stamp dies & foils. I am so excited to try my new FoilPress for cardmaking.

Great video. I recall Sara stating on HSN not to reinsert the platform until she is ready to start another project. She had it placed slightly on the side of the unit.

Yes it will shut down after 25 minutes of use. If you keep it plugged in it stays warm quicker.

Tara I was told if you use 4 sizzix cutting plates under the platform it will work, the sizzix platform is too thick. Be warned that CC doesn't want this used with any die cutting machine except the Gemini Jr.

The foil press plate is not wide enough to trigger the large Gemini to start up and pull the platform through the system. I got my foil press last week and now waiting to get my large plate in so I can even use my foil press.

Thank you for doing this video. I just purchased this from HSN and it seems Spellbinders came out with one as well. I was hoping the foils from Spellbinders will work since it's a bit cheaper. I believe each roll is about 5" by 15'. That's alot of foil!

You are correct, the foil rolls are the same size for both companies and yes the foils will work. Just have to work out timing and heat setting. I did a video on foils and dies too.

Thanks also the thing that bothers me about this machine is having to look in the book every time you want to foil something to see what plates and how long and then juggling everything to get it into the Gemini and having to buy an adapter plate for the original Gemini

If it is the Gemini Jr yes. If it is the full size, you need the adapter plate.

You should try to get some go press and foil foil to use on that machine also just to test it out. It should work though.

You can only foil with Foil Hot foil stamps and you can onky cut with cutting dies. (Usually outline the hot foil stamping dies)

Hello Hope. CC does not recommend embossing folders on the Gemini Foilpress machine and I can not demonstrate anything that would potentially break the machine. I showed an example with the GoPress & foil machine. I will have to find a safe way to foil with embossing folders. Stay tuned.

you have to buy the adapter plate from CC. HSN has it on backorder I believe. The regular Gemini has 3 sensors and this FoilPress only activates 2, so you need the adapter plate to activate all 3.

The foil dies were included in the kit. I think it is much easier with the minc. Crafter's companion has many restrictions on the machine or they void the warranty.

Yes, I agree using a laminator or Minc does look easier. I will look up other videos that you have on foiling using these machines. I have tried using a laminator and I had black specks that did not foil. Your videos may have some tips to try to avoid this. Thank you.

Yes, Over foiling happens when the heat is too high or left on the paper too long. Also make sure to cut the foil down to size to match, excess will stick to your project.
