This brought back memories of my daughter, and I baking when she was a tiny person. She insisted on helping, so I stood her on a chair, and let her stir, add ingredients, and basically all the things you did with your little friend in making the shortbread. This was lovely.

I love this. Charlotte is adorable and quite helper. I use shortbread as my strawberry shortcake base, I just press it into a larger pan and bake for less time. Way better than using sweet biscuits or sponge cake.

OMG this has to be my favorite video!!! Charlotte is SO CUTE!!! And like her, I LOVE shortbread!! This would be a perfect recipe to make with my grandchildren. As a matter of fact, I've been thinking recently about cookies we could make together for Christmas treats. Once these are made & completely cooled,we could dip half of the cookie in chocolate. This is almost similar as the scottish shortbread. The cornstarch thing was a revelation for me. 👍 I always have shortbread baked fresh for my husband so Im really excited how it would turn out if I put cornstarch in it. Thank you for this video! 🎉

a great way to soften butter if you forgot, take the package of butter or packages of butter put them in a large ziploc bag, and take your rolling pin and pound it flat while still in the wrapper, leave it 10 minutes or 15 tops and poof it's soft so you can make cookies or whatever you need the butter for

Very efficient sous chef Gem-ma! Good job Charlotte! I love the tip about using the toaster oven for these because it is over 105° here, and using my oven is not an option! I never thought of using the toaster oven for baking, and I should, it is convection/, toaster, so why not!? We just get in the habit of the conventional I guess! Thanks guys! I made this with some kerrygold and it turned out so delicious, so if you guys get hand on kerrygold Irish butter please use it as it tastes 1000 times better, I actually tried this recipe with regular butter once and Irish butter once and the one which tasted amazing was the one with kerrygold

This is my oven right now bit.ly/FlexDuoOven It really shouldn't matter as the oven should and will perform the same whether it is gas or electric. It will depend on your needs as well. The downside, of course, of the electric oven is that when the power goes out, so does your oven if it is working. Hope this helps!

About the no bake peanut butter cookies can you replace the peanut butter with pumpin/sweet potato puree for a Harry Potter twist? Just want to know for fun.
