I review, breakdown and explain Gen V. I discuss episode 5 and the supes that we'll be seeing along with their powers, their strengths and their weaknesses. I react to Marie, Cate, Sam, Andre and Jordan and answer who is the most powerful out of them all. I also give my theories and predictions on what I think will happen next in The Boys spin off show.

@@dipe6376 it’s literally the opposite. If anything Jordan’s role allows people to understand gender/trans people and relate to them in a less ‘forceful’ way. By using powers as an explanation it allows the character to be more accepted/relatable

Don't underestimate Andre. Because not only does his metal manipulation powers allow him to move anything metallic around but also lets him reshape their composition at will. That is extremely powerful. Just imagine if he carried around a pocket full of metal rods or ball bearings. He could basically use them as projectiles to kill an army of Vought henchmen, and even use anything metal to tie other supes up or at least slow them down. Not only that but if his powers are anything like Magneto's, then at their highest spectrum, he could potentially control the iron in our blood, an ability that is not so dissimilar to Marie's.

@@KiusJa well thats mostly just her holding back, she easily can do the stuff blood benders can do if she practices and stops holding back, the only problem is while she practices i imagine a couple people would die in the process which she does not want to happen lol. You do have to realize a big point in the show is that she is traumatized from her powers because she killed her parents and made her sister terrified of her, so she is very reluctant to use her powers on anyone but herself since she seems to have the greatest control on her own blood. Like we have seen her stop rufus from running in the show and she can explode parts of their bodies and thats only a fraction of what she is capable of.

Sam is as powerful as Queen Maeve who easily made The Seven Only problem with Sam is that he's severely unstable mentally and could accidentally kill one of his allies at any given moment and knowing the way the boys universe is I think he's going to accidentally kill Cricket

So Sam is probably the strongest in terms of combat ability. He seems to be around maive's strength, if not stronger. He is stated to be stronger than his brother, golden boy, who was literally about to be auto-promoted to the seven. However.... Marie is potentially the strongest in the group. She shows the capability to not only manipulate her own blood, but others as well. She's barely touched the basics of her power. It's really hard to say what she is capable of, but we can picture some of the possibilities from blowing off people's limbs, or simply putting a blood clot in the right location for instant death. She can probably augment her physical abilities far beyond what she has displayed. Her healing factor is above average too and can seemingly heal others as well. She is probably the most stacked of the group in terms of latent potential.

And Marie can easily infiltrate and annihilate without so much as raising any suspicion, she can be as subtle as giving someone a heart attack right on the spot just being on an elevator with them, or take out an entire convoy of terrorists by simultaneously exploding their chest cavities without ever lifting a finger.

Bloodbending is perhaps the most powerful thing in the series. There's no counter whatsoever to such an overwhelming ability. Not to mention the intel she can gain from their heartbeat, the self preservation and healing she can do to basically keep people alive no matter what, and her durability which was good enough to take a whole ass homelander beam.

Yes…messing with blood inside of other people seems to be end game for Marie but I also think she hasn’t mastered her basic stuff…she seeming to figure out how to make a more dense blood proyectile and seemed pretty strong right before going to the director’s office…I imagine she could do stronger more precise blood attacks with some time

Nah not unstoppable, just very dangerous. I would say in same lane as Cate and her powers. Both if used in right way and in right situation can be very very dangerous. But they also lack natural defenses. If strong enemy sucker punched them, or shoot some energy blast at them from distance they prob go down instantly, unlike type of powers Sam or Jordan have. Plus i wouldnt be surprised if top tier powers (like Homelander and such) were pretty much immune against their powers.@@BrainPilot

@@mar.s6516I’m not sure about that. Marie could control Cate or anyone else through their blood, and her powers also work at a distance, unlike Cate. Marie is just barely learning what her powers can do. She can already sense other people’s blood, and even their physiological state like when their period is coming. Most supes still have blood, and any blood around is a weapon for her. Take away Sam’s blood, and see how he handles that.. She could stroke him out, or do a lot of gross things just focusing on a tiny amount of his blood. It wouldn’t even take that much power, unlike trying to hold him down by a blood rope. She could make him the rope.

Few things i disagree with you. To me it just makes logical sense her power strongly diminishes with distance, so that part could make her dangerous at MID distance best and any oponent with powerful ranged attack ( laser sight, energy beams) would take her out before she could do anything. (Or speedster - remember she dont have any natural defenses) Plus whole "Bloodbending" is thing in Avatar universe, we have no idea YET if it works same way in Boys world. I just think full "Avatar bloodbending" would be too OP and since GenV is kinda like little cousin of Boys i doubt they would make her that powerful - that would have strong implic. on MAIN show. My guess is if she learns "bloodbending" it would be some weaker, or limited version of Avatars. Plus like i said those physicly strongest heroes (Homelander, possibly Sam) have VERY strong defenses against ALL types of attacks even IF she was able to affect their blood at BEST it would be severly weakened if it worked at all. But obv. this are just my thoughts and theories, i could be wrong. I gues we'll see how things turns out on the show and that is part of the fun. 😜 @@aalvarez2914

Way I see it Jordan is the most powerful now. Full use of their powers as well as very strategic when it comes to switching forms. They can use it to the fullest extend. Marie would be more powerful than Jordan if she had control of her power, but as we saw, she doesn’t. She’s still trying to figure it out with control other people’s blood when it’s inside their bodies. Once she’s mastered that, she’ll be one of the most powerful. Now Sam would be the most powerful and probably is so far, but he’s unstable and that would be his weakness. We don’t know if V gave him schizophrenia or he was born with it, but that definitely affects his use of power. He’s insanely strong, juts unstable

I think Marie is probably the most powerful one. Newman is pretty OP killing anyone at will with ease, but even now she doesn’t seem to have the finesse Marie has begun to show with her power... why would Newman just pop everyone's head all the time if she could just give them a heart attack like Marie and be more stealth with her kills? Maybe Marie has more precision. Also, it looks like Newman can read people's blood and bodies for sickness, objects, compound v, and do the blood bending Marie does... but I feel like Marie is probably capable of that and more, maybe draining compound v out of any sups blood, cure sickness (or viruses wink wink), control people's bodies, maybe even heal herself and others from fatal wounds?

If i remember that episode, the thing holding them back like Katara, was just how evil it felt using it, because they could essentially control people from the inside-out like a puppet. Marie already looks traumatized and reluctant to use her powers, but if she's really angry she can fully unleash it in that overpowered, blood-bending sort of way.

Cate can just make others do everything for her and never even be anywhere near any danger. That is by far the most situational/versatile of the characters powers, she can solve any problem just by making someone who is suited to deal with it handle it for her. If she didn't have a moral issue with using her powers and/or gained a higher tolerance she'd be beyond scary.

After Marie exploded that dude's schlong, I think Marie now is the most powerful. From the beginning, I thought her power was exclusive to her blood and that's a heavy limit. If she can control others', she won't be fainting, not to mention her exploding others' brains off if she can master it. Quite honestly, whoever thought about her character and powers, its potential is well-hidden. Typical powers that stand out are flambouyant ones like super strength, electriciy, energy blasts, etc... and they're usually seen as top tier, unless conveyed otherwise, like Jordan Li's blast, which felt weak. Not sure if they intended it to be like that. Blood manipulation is a creative way to hide power. I first saw this from Avatar when water bending can actually evolve to blood bending, and it blew me away, not because of the evolution, but how much potential Katara now has. She was portrayed as not a top tier at first but her capabilities improved over time. Good character arc in terms of power evolution.

Marie, all living things have blood in them, she can blow up a person or stop the heart at range. She can also take a blow from homelanders lasers so she must have durability too. Also Marie is a great "Sup detector" as she can feel coumpund V in blood, so pinpointing sleepers would be easy for her.

Weirdly Rufus might be one of the strongest, it seems like he almost has Cate level abilities where he could just have someone trance anytime they come near and potentially leave them like that for a long time. Would definitely be helpful catching or stopping a powerful supe!

I think cate is the reason golden boy killed himself. Not directly of course but because of how often she was wiping his memory (and stated that the wipes weren’t 100% and the body and subconscious still remember) and because she was gaslighting him, his mental state deteriorated and that’s why he lost it, especially after finding out Sam was still alive

Unless the next episodes prove otherwise it’s immediately Cate. The fact that she can blur the line between reality and her head is crazy - they didn’t even know they were trapped until the world started changing. That was during a breakdown. If she managed to control this and not get affected she could lock people in their minds without them even knowing it, guaranteed she can stay awake during. But even if she can’t, it’s her world. The person she’s fighting is immediately powerless and she can just about spawn anything to kill them permanently. Like, if she manages to get even the likes of Homelander in this domain, he’s finished. Mind you she didn’t even touch them to do this. Furthermore it’s heavily implied the “voices” she used to hear was just mind reading. This is shown again when after a significant time without them, she reads Marie and Andre’s minds. I fully believe Shetty gave her those medications because the thought of her being able to access her thoughts could be detrimental. We don’t even know if the pills contribute to her limits - that if she were to stop taking them for long enough she may get full control. If this is the case, persuasion might genuinely be the least of her abilities.

She actually did touch Marie and to us it lasted half a second but she likely made all of them grab each other and collectively brought them into her brain. Even so, her powers are extraordinary.

@@Bitchslapper316 she was caught off guard once. Everyone was, that’s how he gets them but the second they know him he’s powerless. We saw the group back him into a corner in episode 5. If he could’ve done anything to save his ass you bet he would. While he can black you out for a time, Cate can do the same without even letting you know. If she wanted, she could let you live in a made up reality for weeks. This is SO much more powerful. I’m not even mentioning how she killed someone in their dream.

(i typed before watching, and realized i regurgitated most of the video lol). for now i reckon marie or sam. marie has an enhanced version of victoria’s power. once she masters blood manipulation she’ll be able to explode people like vic does. sam is physically the strongest and can do high jumps like maeve. i’d love to say cate, and while i think she’s up there, tek knight insinuated that cutting off her hands would probably stifle her abilities, so the eye theory would have to be true in order for her to be the most powerful

Yeah that's true - Marie will be unstoppable if she catches somebody in range! I'd love for Cate's powers to develop though as it feels like there's so much that can be done with them. It feels like she's got a similar background to Marie in the sense where upon discovering them it caused trauma to the family, so maybe she's not had anyone guiding her on how best to utilise them. So i'm hoping with focus on them they'll develop a lot more!

@@BrainPilot that’s a very good point about the guidance! i think all of the characters have downfalls or hindrances to their powers that they’ve yet to overcome (though we’ve seen emma discover the supersize ability) so i’m very excited to see all of them at their full potential. on another video i commented i think we’re seeing the origins of the g-men however in s1 e1 of the boys, madelyn stillwell mentions a g-men film so i think the gen v characters might end up going with that guardians title instead. i’ve also theorized that marie could join butcher and the boys, as that’s more fitting for her imo

I think its all situational. Like Marie can blow people apart if she chooses to, but she's no way near as durable as Sam, and he could rip her limb from limb.. And same with Emma, while Cate is powerful with crazy abilities, Emma could just eat a bunch and step on her. What I love about this show is that not many are close to immortal (such as Superman, even Homelander can be beaten up), its like Pokemon, they all have strengths and weaknesses.

All of them are extremely powerful in different situations: Jordan and Sam are the most valuable in direct combat, strategically/stealthy Marie and Cate are the most powerful. Finally Andre also has extremely powerful powers, in our world metal is used in nearly anything and he still has increased duribility and speed.

Technically Marie is the most powerful since at her full potential she can take down literally anybody who has blood and as we as even Homelander bleeds . She doesn’t even need to explode their heads , she can just clot their blood . Cate as a psychic also seems to have an enormous potential , especially if she can consciously duplicate the part where she can kidnap people consciousness . And Jordan’s powers are enormously powerful since their male form is invulnerable and absorbs all damage while their female side can harnessed this energy and use it offensively so they have more experience the stronger the opponents they fight the better it would actually be for them . Of course they all have weaknesses but with training and most importantly proper teamwork I can actually see them easily taking down Homelander

The whole gang has top tier powers. Its hard to say. Sam is good for brute force, Marie is the trickiest with her bloodbending, Emma is versatile for being able to go big or small, Andre is like magneto and it took like 3 X-men movie to stop him, jordon has good endures and offense with those sonic punch things, Luke is the same but more johnny blaze. The scariest off all of them is Cate. Full persuasion with a touch is terrifying. Though i still believe if the individual has enough will power they can over come it. Like how Sam doesn't get the same desire for the Ring like Borimir, Goulom, or Frodo because he doesnt care for it. He only cared for Frodo well being and returning home to a simple life. So if a character say doesn't know what Cate makes them do its an Error 404 not found type deal. Or the individual can break free of her control if they like i said, have a stong enough will to resist

Metal manipulation is kinda sick ngl. I would walk around with three metal balls constantly floating around my hand and anytime someone fucks with me I would basically shoot the metal balls at them, kinda like sigma from overwatch…I definitely would be a villain. Also idk how deep Andres power goes, but he could probably control the iron in someone’s blood. One more thing the power to persuade someone is extremely powerful…wouldn’t doubt she becomes the mastermind and orchestrated this whole thing for whatever reason. She literally could be faking everything and nobody would even know

Marie will be the most powerful once she fully masters her skills. All she has to do is give someone a heart attack, stroke, or just raise someone's blood pressure so high that they explode. Her powers can do a lot of good as well ofcourse. Putting someone's blood back inside of them is insane. Also, being able to sense other compounds in someone's blood, her possibilities are endless!

I want to rank Cate as the most powerful Gen V supe in terms of potential scope with her being able to control the likes of Homelander and Soldier Boy if she just made physical contact. But the downside of her power is once you know she can control you then you can just avoid the physical contact. Plus she lacks protective and offensive abilities - She is pure support. But Marie is definitely the strongest Gen V supe in terms of lethality. I suspect she may be able to remove the V from a supes blood as well, if she practiced. She could render people powerless.

It would make sense for marie to be the strongest at the end of the show, but I do think it is worth while considering that there are probably lots of limitations to her ability. For example, head popper (victoria neuman) is not capable of killing homelander. Why? We're not really sure, but I feel like the same could probably apply to marie. People with just stupid high durability like homelander might not be affected by these abilities and if so, probably not as much as someone on a far smaller scale.

The bloodbending powers are very inconsistent. The headpoper tried to pop Homelander and it didn't work, hell Homelander didn't even notice it. So it's limited against other supes, or supes of high power level. Then again, Marie has blown of limbs, and other bits, of supes easily and she has far less experience than Headpopper. So it depends.

After episode 7 seeing she can explode people it actually means she could beat the whole seven probably by herself if she was an expert with her powers, literally exploding the entire 7 together 1 by 1 without them being able to defend themselves. She can target kill A-train first then Homelander and then nobody would be able to close the distance fast enough and she can blow up the rest.

I would argue that Marie’s best defense is her healing capability. Just imagine, she could probably cure many if not a majority of diseases like cancer. Also could she rupture Homelander’s organs in any way, could she suck the blood out of his body, could she give him a stroke or heart attack? I feel like there are a lot of possibilities. I would also argue that despite Kate’s weaknesses, she very much makes up for it in her power. She could probably kill homelander, but you could also argue she could reform him by changing his brain function

Kate can't actually wipe memories she can only make you forget. she made luke forget Sam but later luke remembered that Sam and her powers seem to wear off eventually most of her victims sober up from her effect
