Older dude totally gets it and appreciates all the nuances and details - especially the drumming which is amazing in this track. I'm 63 and I consider this an absolute masterpiece of music. Jinjer rules!!! Check out Twelve Foot Ninja's 'Over and Out' which features Tatiana on backup vocals in an equally musically and visually stunning performance.

Welcome to the club. I think everyone that loves musical talent is left asking " Why have I not heard this until now?" or some form of that question. I of course can't answer that but just be happy that you have been exposed to it now. They are a world class band and I can tell you that they are awesome to see live and if you ever have the chance to see them in person I can assure you it will blow your mind again and be a show to remember. Enjoy.

A great reaction, thank you. I suggest the following tracks from them, 'Perennial' live at Waken open air festival 2019, 'Teacher Teacher' the official music video, 'Judgement (and Punishment)' Tatiana's one-take vocal version, 'Vortex' the official music video, there are many other tracks but these are a good place to start.

We were treated to 45 mins of Tatiana screaming and growling at us at Copenhell this year. Several large, bearded and tatooed bystanders were heard to remark afterwards: "Well ... she looks cute an' all ... but ... I don't feel very safe right now. A bit scared, actually ...". It was glorious :)

Great introduction. Its one thing to be absolutely stunned into speechlessness. But then to have every question answered and there to be an anchor that keeps you on the grownd while your mind us blown into the stratosphere is just the cherry on top. 😆 You talk so calmly about their talent and he just sits there and has trouble processing.
@bernhardkulzer91252 жыл бұрын
This song is the perfect trap to lure you into dropping your defences down completely. There is that lullaby-like beginning. You`d like to tune in but it is difficult because of the 4/7 rhythm. Before you check out that odd rhythm, it changes to a comfortable 3/4 and ends up in the 4/4you are familiar with, a tiny bridge with that lovely repeated chord and the drums tapping nicely in an almost jazzy way. And then, out of the blue, you get punched in the face by Tatiana. You couldn`t do that better! For most bands that would be probably enough of ideas for a song but Jinjer gtives you a whole bunch of addidional surprises, enough to make some other new songs... I love that song, I love that band! 😃🤘

If you like this style of female singers going from cleans to distortion, Spiritbox is also really phenomenal. Courtney LaPlante is a massive powerhouse clean and distorted. I'd start with something like Circle With Me, Halcyon or Blessed Be to really see what she can do on both fronts, but if you're looking for aggressive, Silk in the Strings is super catchy.

As a fellow gen-Xer, I can relate to liking the music of a band with harsh vocals but not being be to tolerate the vocals. Meshuggah definitely falls into that category or me. Jinjer is the 1st, & one of the very few to this day, bands with harsh vocals that I like overall, & they've become one of my favourite bans, if not my favourite full stop. Looing forward to Vortex.
