The only thing they did is some overlays of her own clean voice, but other than that it's all her. You haven't seen anything yet. Tatiana is a beast. Welcome to the Jinjer rabbit hole. Cheers
@Chooopy3 жыл бұрын
There is some layering in the second chorus under the words "brings life" etc. It also seems like they had to take multiple guitar tracks from multiple takes because from the chorus to the verse you can hear the distorted guitar sound ring out behind the cleans. Not taking it away from them, it's a studio session with post production, but not fake in any way.
@CgGoil3 жыл бұрын
@@Chooopy , exactly. That is simply just how you record a song in a studio. So its just as anyone would do. As you say, it doesn’t take anything away from them, because they still play their instruments and sing the song.

Yes it’s her voice but her growl sounds nothing like that without the effects. Although the Jinjer fan boys would want you to think differently

The entire band is incredibly tight and super talented. This song was actually a re-recording of an older one, specifically to show off their (at the time) new drummer, who made the song sound quite a bit different. This was also kinda what got their career really going, because the shocking nature of it made it go viral in reaction channels, which really helped their exposure. That being said, this is far from being their best song, nor do the surprises end here already. :) Her name is Tatiana, Roman on the guitar, Eugene on the bass, and Vlad on the drums. If you keep following the band then you will likely talk a lot more about the bassist too, because he has a very prominent role in the band and mixing and absolutely shreds it in a lot of the songs. Official video suggestions: Teacher, Teacher Perennial I Speak Astronomy Pit Of Consciousness Judgement & Punishment Cloud Factory Retrospection Sit Stay Roll Over Live suggestions: Perennial live at Wacken Who Is Gonna Be The One live On The Top live in Kiev Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev Judgement & Punishment live in Melbourne Teacher, Teacher live in Melbourne Sit Stay Roll Over live in Melbourne If you happen to just go with one over the other then I'd suggest the high quality live versions, if available (all the live suggestions here are high quality), but the official videos are definitely worth watching too. There is also a good one take vocal performance of Judgement & Punishment that people will surely suggest a lot.

"I don't know anything about this band but the drummer is amazing." Then mission accomplished. The reason they recorded this was explicitly to showcase Vladislaw, since he had just joined the band. As far as the timing, the beginning is in 7/4, then it goes into 3/4.

This song also I think perfectly encapsulates Pisces as a sign. Even if you're not into astrology, it's just really perfect. Even the way that the song about halfway through changes to that like reverse tempo thing gives me chills every time because it's like the water rippling back from the edges of the pond. And then there's another big splash right at the end. It's pretty insane

You should definitely check out more of Jinjer. This tends to be the song people start with, but its very much the most formulaic of their songs. From what I understand, they weren't really expecting this song to hit it off like it did, but the drummer mixed it up and they wanted to record something showing it off. Perennia(Live at Wacken) is a great next one if you want to see them in person, she does a one take of Judgement and Punishment that is awesome, and Teacher Teacher is probably my favorite for a more official music video style.

I was starting to thing I was taking crazy pills or something but the first time I heard this song was without video and my mind immediately went to a 1940s jazz bar with dim lights and cigar smoke hanging just under the cealing. Like plucked right out is some noir short story. How can I be the only one hearing this? Good to finally hear someone else say it.

I'm glad you appreciated what Vlad was doing on the drums -that was the whole point of this video originally. They just hired Vlad as their new drummer and were so impressed with him that they wanted to showcase him in a live session. If you listen to the studio version you will hear a very dramatic difference in the drumming. And yeah there's four time signatures, 7/8 for the verse, 10/8 for the chorus, 6/8 for the pre-chorus, bridge and outro and a brief 4 bar transition in 4/4 before the first chorus.
