Many bel canto teachers have found that Dimash provides a cross-interpretation between rigid classical singing (which has to follow certain rules and exactly what the author of the piece wrote, from the notes and durations, the portamentos, the expressiveness... Everything) and most popular flexibility. For purists, let us remember that Dimash dreamed of singing with Plácido Domingos since he was little and it was the Maestro himself, Don Domingos, who suggested the duet. Dimash only had one day to remember the work and make the recording as this moment is part of the competition (like a talent show) for children with musical talent: The “Virtuosos”! Dimash, in addition to Plácido Domingos, were part of the Juri, accompanied by Erika Miklósa (opera singer), Adrás Keller (violinist, conductor and musical director of the Budapest Concert), Hauser (cellist), Plácido Domingos Jr. composer), Pablo Sanz Villegas (classical guitarist), Gabriela Rachid (cultural director) and Harvey Goldsmith (music promoter)! The show was in Budapest (Hungary) from January 16th to 26th this year, 2024!

Plácido sings the baritone part and Dimash the tenor. Plácido told Dimash that he no longer can use his tenor voice because of his age and Dimash say, “That’s not true; maestro, you can sing anything.” Thanks for your reaction. ❤️☮️

Dimash does have a masters degree and soon he will have his phd in music comp, he does want to teach in the future pedagogy and compose classical pieces.

Pudemos finalmente desfrutar deste dueto épico entre duas das maiores vozes de todos os tempos, numa interpretação impecável e magistral destes dois grandes nomes da música, de gerações diferentes, o lendário maestro Plácido Domingo e o cósmico Dimash Qudaibergen. Vale ressaltar que Dimash aprendeu essa ária em um dia, num único ensaio e conseguiu fazer essa performance épica com o lendário maestro Plácido Domingo! Isso não é para qualquer um! Quem teria se saído melhor nessas condições?! Apenas Dimash! Tudo o que Dimash faz, ele faz com requinte e perfeição! Nesta apresentação, dadas as circunstâncias, o resultado final pode ser consagrado como uma verdadeira obra-prima que ficará para a história da música clássica mundial!

Placido Domingo did not get his start with the three tenors. The Three tenors began in 1990. Although his operatic career began in the late '50s early '60s he experienced a significant rise in fame even outside of the operatic world in 1981 when he recorded the song "Perhaps Love" as a duet with the American country/folk music singer John Denver.

@@OperaJH I hear you and you're welcome. I too experience some frustration sometimes when they don't do certain research but I try not to hold it against them. I understand a lot of reactor's desires to go into something completely blind. Even if it's an artist new to them that they're reacting to. I really don't mind educating them a little bit as long as they receive it in a constructive manner.

Thanks for the hint. 😘 That made me curious and I immediately checked out this piece. I liked it very much. Very different his voice, but beautiful. For me, Dimash is often the reason why I get interested in learning more about other artists he works with, performs with, or is involved with in some way, e.g. lately the cellist HAUSER. Now I'm curious about Placido Domingo. So far I have only heard him in connection with the Three Tenors... and even then only in a few popular performances. I think I will delve a little more into Placido Domingo's performances, both operatic and non-operatic. Because I'm interested in Dimash and everything around him, over the time I also learned a lot about music, vocal techniques or about different cultures (his chinese performances ) - especially the Kazakh culture, music, instruments, language ... and the country itself, their national anthem, ... about Dears from all over the world .... there is so much more to say about, what Dimash triggered in me .... Dimash was offered a place in the Astana (Kazakhstan) Opera, but turned it down as being too limited, as he wanted to sing in many other genres.
