No, relationships take a lot of work, communication, compromise and the occasional clash but it is worth it in the end. People who grew up on social media will now find it difficult to deal with real relationship issues so when it happens they’ll often end up leaving because they don’t know how to handle it. Before social media, you had to go up to someone you liked and actually talked to them and find out who they are and if you like them. I will say this, as a woman with social anxiety as well as trauma with men, I HATE the idea of having to turn down a guy if he were to be hitting on me or asking me out. The reason is the fear of what the response will be. Most guys would probably accept the rejection and move on but unfortunately it doesn’t always work that way. There’s going to be that person that won’t take no for an answer, that could keep harassing you. I had a friend in middle school, she was a year younger than me, "Eva." I had a crush on her back then but didn't start trying to date her until we were both in high school. Most people didn't grow up mentally, just physically, and as a result, concepts like "cooties" were simply replaced with things more in tune with the adult world ("all women are gold-diggers"; "all men are predators", just to name a few).
