Hello there...I am the person who sent you that long email about Elvis and other stuff...as for Whitney Houston, I have read that it is almost a universal consensus that there are only 3 other female pop singers in the last 50 years that are on the same level as Whitney Houston and they are: Mariah Carey, Babara Streisand, and Celine Dion....I think most people will agree to this, from what I have seen and read...maybe you can react to some songs from these other 3 singers as well?...I would suggest with Celine Dion....I think you will definitely like her a lot and I think your sister might too as well....anyways, I really enjoy your channel and best of luck going forward!

It's not that great singers don't exist today - Ariana Grande being an amazing young voice as an example - its what they choose to sing, how it's packaged, produced, and augmented electronically that kind of kills it. At the same time you have people who simply look good, or act wild, and pray that auto-tune and an army of producers can keep the whole scam running long enough for everyone to cash out or for the singer to announce her line of makeup or whatever. I think that anyone with talent like Whitney can still easily break through and rise to the top but first the people with the talent need to be driven by the desire to sing great songs rather than just grab cash because authentic talent clears its own path effortlessly.

As far as talent goes in the 80s with Pop there was Prince, MJ and Whitney. Madonna amazing but didn’t have the musical talent. Didn’t need it. Prince was the best musician and overall talent. I’m sure you both know MJ well as everyone does. Check out Prince if you want to see talent in every area. Vocals, instruments, dancing, and he solely wrote and produced all his own music. He was influenced on guitar by Carlos Santana and Jimi Hendrix. But he was also influenced by James Brown, Stevie Wonder and others. He was a unique artist in that he could really do almost everything at a very high level and in any genre or style. Many times blending them into his own sound. He’s not as commercially viable as MJ cause his lyrics and themes were very adult and risqué. And his arrangements more innovative and challenging. Check out Purple Rain. It was a hit movie and all the singles were major hits. The videos all from the movie. Anything live is amazing.
