Generation Y/Millennials the generation born in the 1980s and 1990s, comprising primarily the children of the baby boomers and typically perceived as increasingly familiar with digital and electronic technology. 83.1 million people or more than a quarter of the U.S. population, can be considered Millennials by most definitions. The younger millennials were arguably the last generation to have an internet-free childhood. The generation's size exceeds that of the 75.4 million baby boomers. Generation Z/Zoomers the generation born in the 2000s and 2010s, comprising primarily the children of the Gen X'ers and typically been raised with screens, smartphones and are the most tech savvy, very much influenced by vloggers and internet celebs.

But wait! There’s more: if history really does repeat itself, then people from Gen Alpha are going to bully each other. Millennials did it, Gen Z is doing it, and so will the next generation. Because face it. Nobody on the internet can learn to leave people alone. No matter how harmless your actions are you will be judged for it.

I think gen X and Millenials are way better about change than Boomers because of how massive technology advancements have basically been a bi-monthly event since they were born, and that attitude has already been passed down to gen Z and Alpha, so there's a pretty good chance the bad will decrease. Not everything can be fixed easily, but it's getting better since all of us here now are going to be open to it to begin with.

@@darianbarber3763 Gen X is always forgotten when talking about generations. And they were once again in this video, hence my comment. People always jump from Gen Z to Millenials and then pass over Gen X completely and go straight to Boomers. So maybe the barren wasteland is this video and others like it? The most I hear about Gen X is when people make jokes about them just sitting on the sidelines, silently watching the other generations complain about each other while trying to fade into the background. Gen X is even sometimes referred to as "The Forgotten Generation" because they are so often left out and invisible when it comes to generational conversations.

The whole concept of generations is weird if not deceptive marketing. Barring a few notable exceptions birth rates are pretty linear. Children aren't only born in mass every few decade or so. Crazy I know.
@Jessica-yl2gu
@Jessica-yl2gu 2 жыл бұрын
I think that generations aren't meant to describe when a whole group of people are born, but rather to group people together by the cultural period they grew up in. A new generation doesn't meant that people stop having kids for a while but now people are finally being born again, I just means that our culture has shifted to a point where children are now growing up under vastly different cultural circumstances than those who came before. The way we use those that as an excuse to antagonize and make fun of people is still really fuckin weird though.
@joeyjojojrshabadoo7462
@joeyjojojrshabadoo7462 2 жыл бұрын
@@Jessica-yl2gu Yeah it pretty much relates entirely to "generation gap" of the post-war America. The other generations are based loosely around that but the demographic shifts are more gradual hence the line between them grow increasingly arbitrary point. If you had to pick a point where the proverbial serpent swallowed its tail it would be when 'Boomer' simply meant 'anyone above 30'.

You should begin a dubbing career, really ! Honestly, getting old is a part of life and we should not be ashamed of it. The "cringe" fear is just preventing us from having fun. Our identity is much more complex than our "gen" (which tends to be really restrictive and divides us more than anything else. From what I've seen, it only seems to be considered in the US, or at least more often) No generation is better than the other, and each of the other's mistakes has helped us learn in the end. We should just share together what has been good. (As cheesy as that sounds!) Great video! Sorry for any English mistakes, it's not my first language.
