I love how they didn't understand the lyrics to ænema, then cuts right into "we're producers" not realizing that the song was partially about insignificant attributes the Californian lifestyle creates.
@zesticide10103 жыл бұрын
Thier right brain picked up the lyrics and brought the ideas forward to their left brains. The left brain does all the talking, what we are witnessing is their left brain rationalizing with their right, and as cringy as it appears it is a lesson all at once. "Truly think about what we are saying, and if it's not a truth then it does really need to be said." Are you really a producer, or are all the animals expected to produce? Every living thing is expected to produce, so to bring up being a producer might hold weight, it only indicates a deep personal biases to reject this song.
@brianz5053 жыл бұрын
Ænema is based on a comedy routine by Bill Hicks, who hated the city of Los Angeles. He thought the people were very superficial and represented America at its worst. In his routine, which is sampled in the song, Hicks talks about California falling into the ocean and creating Arizona Bay. Hence, learn to swim
@zesticide10103 жыл бұрын
Ænema was the song they had the hardest time digesting, it just didn't make sense. Then they immediately followed the comment of not being able to understand the song they throw in some of the Californian insignificant attribute mentioned in the joke, "we're producers." Hicks would have hit the roof.

@@AMVryan lol the important part of my comment was that metal is no doubt going to proliferate your channel as anyone who does reactions inevitably gets hit by guys like me who both want to see people react to the insane breakdowns in something like Landmvrks lost in a wave, and love to see the gradual progression people make from not understanding the music to breaking down individual sections of the song when they realize how complex they can be.

The drummer, Danny Carey, is a beast. He’s well over six foot tall and in his 60s!

I grew up with my dad listening to tool and I have a deep appreciation for Maynard's choice of progression and lyrics throughout his career. It is truly beautiful and is art at its best imo. The amount of interpretations that can be made from each song is outstanding and really leaves the audience thinking long after the music has ended

My guy in the gray jacket is freakin hilarious. LOLOL Guys kept saying they could hear the lyrics... It's hard to hear the lyrics when you're talking over them :0)

Kills me that this guy was comparing Tool to Slipknot but happy to see they appreciate Danny Carey

Ah man, Since they loved Danny I was hoping they would hear Pneuma.
I really like you guys. Danny Carey is the nucleus of the band and is musically trained. Good picks for beginning TOOL fans. Hope y'all dive deeper into their discography. I'm subbing for that.

He’s musically trained ? Aren’t they all ?

@@tempsitch5632 it just means he went to school for music. I'm not 100% but I think he studied music theory at university of California.

Adam Jones has a musical background. I don’t know about Justin, but based on some of his bass grooves and harmonies, he probably does, too. Maynard is just a natural savant. I don’t think he went to school for music or had a background in it. I could be wrong. I haven’t read their wikis. Adam is classically trained on…violin? Another string instrument I believe.
