I've worked construction or farming for most of my life, I spent summers in HS trying out lifeguarding, summer camp mentoring, working at A&W and a local coffee shop. I worked as a cashier for a grocery store in high school. Motivated me to peddle lawn care with a buddy the summer after. Pulling weeds by hand in the southern sun for hours was 100x better than customer service. Anything that requires you to interface with the general public is torture 💀

I worked a cash register at Walmart for Christmas as a second job. It was ok. I went back a couple years later to do it again, and they said I had to go through 7 days new employee orientation. I said I already worked here before, put me on the floor on a register or I walk. They said, nah fam it's mandatory. I walked out. I'm not going to be treated like a little baby b***h.
