Was walking near the big library on 5th avenue in NY and was looking down toward the ground as I was walking. I soon heard "Keep ya head up.". I looked at who walked past me and it was the man I had a crush on, Gene Anthony Ray. I was in shock. Did not want to bother him, or be late for work, so I just smiled, turned around and kept it moving. He never turned around either. He just said it and continued on his way. I had a fantastic rest of my day that day!

@@nesetans1407his mother sold drugs whilst he shooting Fame. Ray was axed from the show after his mother was jailed for running a drug ring, and he failed to turn up for work 100 times. He struggled with addictions to alcohol and drugs, and worked only intermittently once the TV series ended.

Gosh! He was my biggest teenage crush back in the 80'th 😍☺️. I didn't miss a singel episode of Fame when it came on tv. I even started taking Jazz dance lessions! And later on went to Africa dancing the real tribe dances,I blame this dude for it! 😄 What a natural talanted dancer he was and what a carisma and body!🧡😊 Too sad he's life changed so dramatically and to die young & sick! Really sad!😔😪

What a gifted young man. He had so much to look forward to. So sad, if we could only know what the future holds in moments like this, maybe the outcome could be changed and we would see so much more of his talents shared with the world. Still he made an impact and his contribution and legacy live on. R.I.P. beautiful soul.
