I love that when Barry's not in a murder haze he's such a sweet, excitable little lamb. Such a weird dichotomy, but it really works.

I see Barry as a show about opposites. A skilled assassin who doesn’t like being a hitman wants to become an actor despite not being good at acting.

"He who seeks revenge digs two graves" - Gene Cousineau, inmate #24601
@SixDrums4 жыл бұрын
I like that Gene tells Barry he’ll go with him to his audition in an attempt to help him, when really he’s pretty desperate for roles himself. In a sense he’s trying to use Barry to get what he wants, much like how Fuches and Hank use Barry for the entire show. Barry can never feel too attached to anyone because he never feels he can totally trust them.
@masterzombie1613 жыл бұрын
Finally someone who gets it. I’ve been saying Gene is just as Manipulative as the others, even Sally is guilty of being that way too because of her story. Sally wants her abuse story to sell her to everyone that she’s a good actress. However the story has some serious holes if you look at the bigger picture which leads me to believe that it’s fake. Even the Ex says that Sally is extremely aggressive, and often tries to trigger people to react aggressively towards her to give her Victim entitlement more merit.
@jelloz12353 жыл бұрын
@@masterzombie161 its literally proven to not be fake lmao sally got abused
@jelloz12353 жыл бұрын
@@masterzombie161 and gene is helping barry at the same time as helping himself. How is that a problem? As long as hes helping barry and not leading him to a bad path, what you call "manipulating" is not really a bad thing
@masterzombie1613 жыл бұрын
@@jelloz1235 sorry it took me awhile to respond I forgot I wrote this. However I have several key scenes that say Sally did indeed fake the story. 1. Sally talking to her friend on Skype, says “you saw him strangling me.” The friend says “no I saw him Knocked out and we picked you up.” Sally was really insistent on her friend believing in her version of the story. 2. Barry catching Sally flirting with a sort of famous dude. In Sally’s play the ex says “I saw you dancing with that guy, I didn’t like it, it was embarrassing.” Much like how Barry felt after giving her a Mac. 3. Sally’s old friends in other shows and in class and she is willing to sell them down the river. She has a huge tendency to over react or use someone’s misery to her advantage in their group in certain scenes. 4. Her ex says “I don’t Even know what happened that night.” then he says “even when we were dating, you over reacted about everything.” Keep in mind He had a son, and she married him at a young age(possibly to further her career). 5. Sally’s Break down, how it’s Her story. While Barry is trying to learn his movie lines she all of the sudden turns it on her and how her story is more important than barry. In fact her story is more important to everyone’s, including other women who went through what she did if not worse. She uses this story as a means to get ahead and it’s gotten her nowhere while others embraced the fun side of Acting. 6. Sally’s acting. If you watch it’s always sunny in Philadelphia, or any other show that are about liars you can definitely spot her lie. It shows how good the actress who plays her is if she’s willing to convey such contradictory emotions in a matter of seconds. When she is performing her story Notice how she’s acting in the scene to when she’s desperate for Barry to strangle her. See the desperation in her eyes that he must recapture that moment to sell that this story is Real and it’s Better then everyone’s story. It’s almost like a sick joy she feels when pushing Barry to his limits like she did with her ex. 7. This is the last one. It’s when she changes the story at the last second. She hated that Barry managed to get a movie Role and that he can possibly show her up on her own scene. So she rewrote to where she’s the Rage monster causing Misery. While yes you could say she just didn’t want to be out staged, however if you look at how increasingly violent she has been, and how her friend says “they saw her ex passed out” to her ex saying “he doesn’t even remember that night” to how her supposed story went when he supposedly says “I saw you dancing with that guy.” To even Barry being Pushed to Possibly Strangling Sally Right when She immediately changed the story last second. It’s quite evident that she has faked the story for her own interest. I think what will happen is that Barry will most likely kill the ex. However it will soon be apparent that her story doesn’t make any sense and learns that it was fake. It would be hella interesting if this does happen, cause this show is about Liars, so how fitting would it be that Sally was the Biggest liar of all.

So before season 3 came out I was convinced this scene spelled out the whole show. Now I’m fully convinced. Each scene represents a season. Barry just ate the “shit pie” in a season all about revenge. Let’s see how Sally “swims” without Barry’s help.

You can see and feel the jealousy in the teachers way of speaking. With all of his ways of teaching his student how to act, he never once been casted in a movie. He used his old Therapy techniques as a way to manipulate his students to give him money so he can keep pursuing roles. So much story is told through the characters by just their mannerisms and energy. This show is amazing.

fun fact about this scene this plot synopsis sums up Barry. Scene one lost: Barry finds purpose through acting. Scene two: Barry shoots up the monastery to take revenge on Fuces after not killing anyone the entire second season. Scene three: Barry eats the "shit pie" by getting caught by Jim Moss. (Side note) "He who seeks revenge digs two graves" sums up Genes character with him killing Barry Scene four: "No fucking way" Is all the reactions we had when Barry got shot. The little girl is Sally finding clarity at the end when it's all set and done. (This thought was from another fan of the show I just want to highlight the fucking brilliant writing in this show)
@edselgreaves65034 ай бұрын
I would say Scene 1: Lost - Barry is trying to get away from his current identity in season 1 Scene 2: Vengeance - Barry shoots everyone in the monastery trying to find Fuches. Scene 3: Comeuppance - Gene knows Barry killed Janice, the cops are closing in, Jim sends him to prison. Scene 4: No fucking way - Barry and Sally bring a child into this world even though they're hiding from the law. But like the little girl, Barry ended up not needing to save his son because Fuches did it for him.
