Gene Mangum's Mystic Branch HO Scale Layout

Upon invitation from Mr. Mangum, I stopped by his lovely home to film a profile on his magnificent model railroad on my way to Houston, Texas to check into the hotel. I was thoroughly impressed by the detail and track to scenery balance. There was loads of switching, and track, but not so much that it overwhelmed the model railroad's scenery. This was a very well thought out, and executed model railroad.
My heart-felt thanks to the Mangums for having me to share this wonderful miniature SP layout with you, my wonderful subscribers!
I'm hoping to do a revisit and a film an abridged operating session on my way home from Houston...whenever I am able to return home.

Nice coverage and tour of the layout. Seems to have nice scenes and details but kinda hard to tell at times from camera movements. First half was rocking and panning. Slow down camera movements and focus on a scene before slowing moving on. Don't pan around as much to follow the conversation. Was more stable in the second half. Ah we have all done this though - ha. Look forward to your next visit.

@@TexasSpecial91 my layout is double deck point to point starting in Bloomington Texas yard, it goes on the port lavaca branch line to port lavaca, then to get to the top deck is by rail barges, which enters into the proto-freelance section where the starting point by barge is port o’ Connor and the ending point is seadrift Texas my hometown. A entirely separate third deck is going to be the Dow chemical plant I grew up having to pass it to go anywhere when I was a kid. Saw your video of Bloomington and had to tell you that I hope to bring the first known model (it is condensed) in railroading

Fantastic layout. But Southern Pacific was bought out by Union Pacific so I guess the U.P is now the greatest RR.🙂 I have a SD-60 DCC and a Big boy 4014 also DCC layouts never end always expanding.
